Roger Stone . . . believes the only way Sarah Palin could remain a viable presidential candidate in 2012 or beyond was to leave the governorship of Alaska.

Ok, Rush has said the same thing: she needs to be in the lower 48 . . . but I see no indication that she is moving to the lower 48, which still then does nothing to address the massive flying time that a single speech entails. Someone posted here that it's 11 hours from Anchorage to Florida?? So Newt can give a speech in FL in less than an hour, but for Palin, it's a 2-day affair?

Unless she moves---and she really seems to love Alaska---how is that mitigated?

The only thing that I can say to the Palin detractors on this site is to read this editorial:

http://www.adn.com/opinion/story/518451.html

Particularly this line:

“Palin is the only major political figure in the past 20 years who regularly comes to (Anchorage) Daily News editorial board meetings by herself, with no flunkies or handlers.”

Think about it...she had more confidence in herself, against a hostile media, than anyone else in 2 decades...and she never messed up in those solo inquisitions. Anyone who considers her a lightweight will be bitterly disappointed.

“but I see no indication that she is moving to the lower 48”

Give her a break. She’s still governor for 3 more weeks, and she’s made it more than clear that she will not telegraph her moves...she seems to know where that leads to for Republicans.

She seems to have her state's, her family's, and her own best interests in mind.

However, you and I both know that Mitt and Huckleberry are going to nail her with this resignation every chance they get.

All their spinning will probably only increase support for Sarah among red-meat, red-state conservatives, but I'm afraid she will lose the support of independents.

Right now this move appears to be one step back and two steps forward. But in the heat of the next set of campaigns this will be spun as one step off a cliff.

Much easier for her to speak out against Obama without fear of repercussions to Alaskans.

“However, you and I both know that Mitt and Huckleberry are going to nail her with this resignation every chance they get.”

They will certainly try...as they feel it’s “their turn” (to lose), like Dole in 96.

But they may finally look like such IDIOTS trying to take down an immensely popular Sarah that they figure it’s best to join her, or at least shut up...since she can only be president for 8 years...and then only if she wins.

“They” had rather sleep with a cottonmouth than hear her name. Fear... fear... fear... and well deserved. + she will only get better and quicker than a cat can lick it’s b*t* with it’s tong out and it’s tail up.

She's prayed about this decision, she's following her heart, and God will take care of her.

I trust her 100% if she ain’t got a clue what she doing. That makes more sense to me than 2% trust in the band of fools who are holding the wheel now.

Palin should distance herself from Roger Stone as much as possible.

Toxic.
