What should you do if blindsided by a vague accusation from high school 35 to 38 years ago

Posted on 09/20/2018 8:10:05 AM PDT by detective

Someone accuses you of doing something at a party when you were in high school.

There is no evidence. There are no details. It supposedly happened at an unknown time and place.

At first, the accuser is unknown and refuses to give her identity. Then she makes her identity public.

She goes to the media. She refuses to answer any questions about what happened, her motives or her history.

She is a political activist who has a political motive for making a damaging accusation.

What would you do?

If true, I admit it. If not, I deny it.

If the 'charge' comes out while still in high school, many would follow a variant of your strategy: "If cute, I admit it. If not cute, I deny it."

Do what Clarence Thomas did. Throw away the script they’ve given you, and speak the truth from your heart.

The stark contrast between the passion of a man who was clearly being wronged and someone who is weaseling off a script (which is an everyday sight in DC) is why Thomas won his confirmation.

In other words, “Give ‘Em Hell!”

I would laugh at them. I was always at home doing homework back in the 60s because I went to a tough school.

Jhadur -— I like your style! I’ve been wondering why, after all these years of abuse, that Rep conservatives don’t have a few of these on the payroll already to give it to the Dems every time they try something like this. I would love to read in the newspaper about the Pelosi, Schumer, Booker, etc. dirty laundry. And if the newspapers won’t print it, let’s take over the internet!!!

babies, LOL.

But this is a troubling aspect to this case, that the liberals decided to go back to high school to find something on Kavanaugh.

“I’d change my party registration to Democrat. It’s like putting on a suit of armor.”

Best answer yet. Absolutely nailed it.

What they do is take advantage of the fact that there was something that took place in that place around that time. Memories are very vague about events that were not significant at the time, and that people are very very willing to fill in the blank spots with what they are told NOW.
Happens to me all the time. I have a vague recollection of shared events, and a family member reminds me of the event, and I fill in the blank spots with what I am told. Luckily, the family member does not tell me lies, so my memory is restored to validity.
In the BK situation, there is little chance that anyone has an accurate memory of the events, and so, hysterical, unbalanced women who support the liar "remember" the events as the liar says they were.
I've had it with the BK story. Fed up to here.

I’d quit my job, change my identity, and go into hiding.

Because the self-proclaimed victim is always right. Even if it never happened, it could have happened. Prove that that’s not true.

I’d say, “oh yeah, I remember her...that girl could “suck-start” a Harley Davidson.”.

Seriously though, someone once told me, “If you ever want to get ahead, get out of your home town.”. His reasoning was, you’ll always be seen as your reputation as a kid/teen, and not as a professional who has attained accomplishments. There’s a lot of truth in that.

The Judge, however, doesn’t have that luxury, because he’s got a lot at stake, for instance, his reputation and entire future. He’s got to fight the dems, the media, and this cuckoo woman who is obviously off her nut.

Someone I might have known in high school would not bother to come forward, because there would be nothing in it for her, and George Soros is not going to pay her to come after me.

So my answer is, (to what would you do), I’d just laugh on the way to the golf course. LOL
