I am listening and loving the turning of the clock back.

In my youth (I turn 70 in a couple weeks) we didn’t have a television. We sat around the radio....I miss those days.

LOL....I am listening to this on my new 27” iMac Pro, so the old wooden radio isn’t here anymore. I am learning how to process photos with Photoshop while listening....surreal. The broadcast I am listening to was broadcast in 1956, the year my first favorite car was made, 1956 Chev-2 door post....I was 8 years old.

Now the Jack Benny show....wow, comedy without all the hate and curse words...strange.

I listen to Jack Benny about 5 days a week. Timeless, hilarious comedy. Phil Harris is also great. OTR was created around America’s cultural peak and lives forever. I rarely turn on modern stuff. You might want to check out the OTR channels on tunein radio. One is only OTR comedy.

Hi, Vision! This is the first really cold front of the season, I think. It’s not going to get very cold here, but a bit cooler, which is good.

Have you heard from Viking? That storm went right up his way.

Evening, folks. We endured an 18 hour power outage and a tree down in the road that blocked us in for the duration, but there doesn’t seem to be any other damage. It was hairy around here for about 12 hours, but what we went through was a kiddy ride compared to that Roller Coaster From Hell that they were subjected to. I’ve already donated to the Red Cross. We’ve got offices in Dothan, AL, and Panama City, FL, that are completely down. The Panama City office suffered extensive physical damage. We may end up going on the road to help them recover in the next week or so. And just my luck. Our cat Sadie fell out of the living room window snoozing and sunning herself, and we think she has a broken leg or some torn tendons. She’s tucked in on Connie’s side of the bed and hasn’t moved in three days. We have to bring her food and water. We have to get her to a vet pronto, and I honestly don’t want to have to rely on Connie to do it all herself. Her marbles are starting to rattle loose from the MS and I don’t fully trust her judgement at this stage. I can’t tell my company that I can’t help our fellow employees because I’ve got a sick cat, but I’d much rather be here to steer the situation.

Trees and rain at a 45 degree angle. If it wasn't secured on the leeward side and/or strapped down, it was blown a block away. I've been through worse. Hurricane Ivan took off half my porch roof about ten or twelve years ago. Living down here really does tweak your perspective on things. Funny thing is, the tree that came down did so facing into the wind. The power was out, I was sitting in the car, enjoying the AC and charging my cell phone, and I noticed a streetlamp on up at the main road, so I got curious. Made it as far as the neighbor's driveway, and there's a fifty foot yellow pine across the road and up into their yard. We both took a personal day Thursday.

Oh, well, I’m thankful that you’re both okay, as best you can be, but I’m sorry about Sadie. It’s so tough when we have a hurt or sick cat. Thanks for letting us know, Viking!

Just another chapter in the odds-defying calamity and insanity that’s been business as usual in our lives for the past six years. Hollywood couldn’t write a script that would match it. But we shall persevere.
