While hearing comments from Triveece Penelton, a city planner with Kansas City consulting company Vireo, Leavenworth County Commissioner Louis Klemp says 'I don’t what you to think I’m picking on you, because we’re part of the master race.'

The key to understanding his words is the “I don’t want you to think.....”
That negates what comes after it. “Because we’re.....” is the rejected reason for the picking on, which never happened.
Why there are so many arguments. English is illogical and ambiguous.

Of course if it were some radical Negro making the claim for his own "master race", the media would be so silent you would hear the crickets chirping in the background.
Of course the video segment was limited to the commissioner’s comments to that consultant including the “master race” remark. It might have been helpful to see more of what transpired before and after the remark. To me it sounded like he was being sarcastic and poking fun at the “White Privilege” movement.

“There’s lots of research on mindfulness, but there are so many ways of doing it and so many different populations and settings,” she said. “We’re cautious not to say ‘this program will absolutely do this every time for you.’ But research consistently shows across different groups and types of interventions that we see increased attention because of even very short bursts of mindfulness or meditation practice.”

Klemp is a white man that was not elected but rather appointed to his seat by the Republican committee.
Some are calling his comments “insensitive” and “racist”.
