Anti-vaxxers allegedly circulating memes and clips from an old episode of the “Brady Bunch,” in which all of the kids come down with the measles, have drawn the ire of one of the show’s former stars — who says the virus is no laughing matter.

I don't remember ever having measles, but I remember being kept out of summer day camp as an almost 8 yo because of chicken pox.

Two-thirds of the population of Europe survived the Black Death. I’m still trying to figure out how they possibly could have done it.

I believe in most vaccines on a delayed schedule...and I do not entrust my life to big pharma. Doesn’t make me against ALL vaccines and sick of the fascist-flavored onslaught against any and all discussion over the matter due to the measles hype.

Liberals of course refuse to make any other factor a topic up for discussion: like the fact that we do not screen enough people from other countries etc...

Did you half your class have peanut and gluten allergies too? Ever considered why there has been such an upsurge? Not saying it’s vaccines but that it is a question worth asking.

Vaccination is necessary and one of the great achievements of medicine — but over-vaccination from infancy may have tragic consequences on the development of some children’s immune systems. Also, there are too many toxic additives in shots that should not be there.

Nailed it.

This “debate” seems to be All or Nothing with people. The concept of sensible reform in the vaccination protocol seems to be off the table. I think vaccines are good. I’m just not sure we are really using them the right way. But it seems people don’t want to talk about that. Any questioning of the vaccination protocol is lambasted as anti-science ignorance.

measels is not as bad other illnesses that can be vaccinated against, I think people have a certain vaccine load they can take, when you overload that you get autoimmune disorders and increase in other autoimmune related disorders.

We should only be vaccinating against the worst of the worst, not poking our immune systems with a stick constantly.

And its also very disingenuous to notice all these migrants are diseased, and to completely overlook that they are coming from countries where they do not get vaccinations. The foreigners are from nations of anti-vaxers.

I agree big pharma is pushing too much these days. But the standard vaccinations we all used to get were not bad and they eradicated diseases that were once common here. I have been told that polio went away all by itself, that the vaccine had almost nothing to do with it.

Because that figure you are quoting is after about the third time it swept through!

Each time it leaves a surviving population with an increased genetic predisposition to survive the next infection.

The time it came though in the Age of Justinian it was really really bad! We don’t have a lot of surviving records of that. It’s probably what enabled Islam to expand. Being off the beaten trade track (Mecca being a trade center is very likely a Muslim self serving myth!) Arabs suffered the least from the infection. When they were “inspired to sally forth”, it was mostly into a power/population vacuum!

I can’t remember ever having had chicken pox, though I had measles and mumps. The doc says I probably did have it, either so young that my father and grandmother didn’t know about it (parents separated); and that sometimes it isn’t real obvious (?)

Upsurge of peanut allergies is very clearly tied to many more kids no longer being exposed to peanuts. That’s it. Peanuts came to prominence as a food to fight poverty in the south. Massive numbers of moms no longer feed their kids peanut butter the way they used to. The modern effective treatment is low level slow exposure to peanuts to build up a tolerance.

As for gluten that is mostly between the ears of moms who never eat a carb, and insist their child is allergic to gluten. Gluten allergy is the most widespread of the fake, “look at me” diseases.

Last is autism. Now if a kid stacks three blocks together, or organizes their toys, or dozes off in class he is “autistic”. And lots of moms out there completely enjoy telling how their kid has asbergers. To them that means he’s extremely intelligent and just misunderstood.

Also see, mass hysteria.

“This “debate” seems to be All or Nothing with people. The concept of sensible reform in the vaccination protocol seems to be off the table. I think vaccines are good. I’m just not sure we are really using them the right way.””

Well stated. And not just how they are given, but how they are made. I think we are getting newer vaccines that are the equivalent of our massively over processed foods compared to foods a few decades ago.

And any critique of vaccines is seen as anti-science. Also, the slightest support for some vaccinating is seen as stupidly obeying the government and tantamount to destroying your kids. There is a backwards Luddite movement out there in the anti-vax movement that thinks if you don’t avoid all vaccines, keep chickens in the yard and make your own lye soap, you are lesser as a parent.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, with probably an edge to the pro-vax side of the debate.

Like anything else in life, vaccines require a prudent risk/benefit analysis.

All vaccines come with risks (despite endless propaganda to the contrary). You have to evaluate that against the potential of the disease to kill or cripple, and then make your best educated decision.

Our government and Big Pharma don’t want you to think however. They just want you to shut-up, line-up and take your shots, paid for by tax dollars, and immune from any and all civil liability should anything go wrong.

It’s the height of corruption and it is damaging peoples’ health IMHO.

Someone help me out here. If you do not get vaccinated for measles, and you get measles, isn’t that your own doing? Plus the only ones who will get measles are those not vaccinated so let’s say in a public school of 2000, 1900 are vaccinated. If one of the un-vaccinated gets measles, only 100 children could be infected and that’s the risk the parents of those 100 are freely taking at their kids expense.

Doesn’t this come down to pro-choice? I choose not to vaccinate my kid. Or I do choose that.

Listening to one of my friends explaining that her kid doesn't look at her when she talks to him...and that he is obviously autistic. Oh yea....the school got some extra money for catching this behavior.

Peanuts is a bean...

Kids are now "trained" to drink water, soda and juice....when plain old Whole Milk would be the best thing that they could drink.

Bottom line....we're teaching our kids to be sick.....but don't worry....there's a cure. It just costs M O N E Y.

One of my four kids is allergic to peanuts. DesertRhino is right - it comes from failing to expose the child to peanuts and tree nuts at an early age. We followed the established medical norms just 7 years ago when he was a baby: no nuts, strawberries, shellfish, or other common allergens, only to find him breaking out in hives at age two.

They did a study in Israel as to why food allergies are so rare there. Turns out, they feed babies a common snack that contains peanuts. It pisses me off that my kid will have to live the rest of his life allergic to nuts because the American "medical community" was issuing guidelines without knowing what the hell they were doing.

What is in MMR vaccines?
Straight from the pig's mouth.

https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/additives.htm

Thimerosal (mercury)
Aluminum
Antibiotics
Egg protein
Formaldehyde
Monosodium glutamate MSG

It is no wonder that parents would not want their children to accept such vaccines. I'm positive there are ingredients that could be used instead of the ones they are using.

So, to me it shows a true intent to poison the population.

In 1970, 5th grade, a bunch of us were rounded up for live attenuated measles vaccine. Somehow, we had missed previous vaccination roundups during the summers.

It must have been a bad batch of vaccine, because most of us contracted measles soon after. My mom recalls that it was a mild case in me.

said, "This “debate” seems to be All or Nothing with people."

Its taken me a while to realize this but that seems to be the argument with most leftist. Sensible solutions aren't possible. They're on a witch hunt.

Sensible question: "Preservatives in vaccines could cause problems."

Flaming torch person: "NO! take your medicine to prove you're not a witch!!"
