Japan’s caution over N. Korean ‘ghost ships’ lets China off hook

Japanese Coast Guard has recently warned over 800 North Korean fishing vessels to leave Japanese waters; may demonstrate Tokyo is finally addressing maritime domain awareness – and aims to address North Korean “ghost ships” ... first started arriving, loaded with corpses, three years ago. The body ships are still coming, however.

To date, Japan seems powerless to prevent the penetration of North Korean vessels deep into its waters.

Seems incredible that Japan can be so lackadaisical about its maritime security.... and who are all these people who are ending up dead in the boats???? Why are they dead?

The dead? Article offers no explanation as to why NK crews turn up dead in their boats. Kind of an important point to address.

Strange article.

My guess, NK fisherman. Set out with little to no provisions to make sure they don’t defect. They go out, catch nothing, and eventually starve. May little kim tells them not to come back until the boat is full, or else!
