AS NORTH KOREAN Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xhan Phuc on Friday, speculation was rife that Kim Jong-un had sent Ri to Hanoi to learn tips on economic reform.

Or maybe he’s looking for tips on how to defeat the US.
Ping!
“Or maybe hes looking for tips on how to defeat the US.”
Then Kim would have sent Ri to any Hollywood studio, George Soros foundation and even the Dem Party HQ. I think there’s some good intentions here.
Why wouldn’t they just talk to China?
When Trump said he ‘liked’ the NK leader, I thought immediately of a bit in JAG, where Admiral Chegwidden is tasked to prosecute some young enlisted guy.
“I like you, son. Probably gonna hang you, but I like you.”
Thanks.
I don’t get involved in political talks about Vietnam. I am a guest here.
That said, I was quite pleasantly surprized when I came here several years ago.
I really did not know what to expect. To tell the truth I have lived several places in Asia before, a long time ago. But I decided to visit here this time.
I was quite pleasantly surprized. Vietnam is not about the war. That is ancient, ancient history. This is a place which I frankly find quite intriguing.
The population is quite young, everyone rides a motorcycle, and it seems everyone, has someone. There are things to be careful about here, just like home. But this is very safe, other than keeping your things secure. And don’t go out on a scooter very, very late.
Sure I love America. But I also like Vietnam, more than I originally had anticipated I would. This is nice. Now this is not the place to come to come, to just have fun with girls. But it seems to me, pretty much a perfect place to come to really meet someone.
I do not think Vietnam represents a threat to America.
However, I am not sure I feel the same about China. It seems to me, that the more we buy from China, the more dangerous they become.
Just my thoughts.
#7. Vietnam is still a Communist police state and Party dictatorship. What goes on in the hinterland doesn’t make the Hanoi press. The same for attacks on the Meos of Laos and the still communistic govt of Cambodia.
I was just reading old “Principal Reports” from Radio Hanoi and Liberation Radio (VC radio). They never were interested in real freedom for the people nor in telling the truth.
OK. they’re doing their repression in the dark, in the hills and mountains of the Central Highlands, against some Buddhists and Catholics, the Meo, etc. Don’t hear much about the fate of the Cao Dai or Hoa Hao do you? Same for the Chams.
The whole country is essentially a Marxist “Potemkin village”. Dig deep and you’ll find the dictatorship is alive and well, but not as open as it is in Red China. However, it is still there. So is Castro and Ortega, the SACP/ANC in So. Africa, and Little Rocket Man in No. Korea.
Putin is a red of another stripe. He’s openly a bully, killer, and megalomaniac.
Years ago a student of communism, Dr. Fred Schwarz, wrote a book entitled “You Can Trust The Communists to Be Communists”.
That observation remains as true today as it did about 60 years ago when he wrote that book.
The “truth” of communist Vietnam is buried in the mountains and field of I and II Corps, western III and IV Corps, where you can’t go.
It seems like everyone in Vietnam was an entrepreneur!!!!! Best and quickest way to get wealthy!
Why not South Korea?
China has their own interests, like making North Korea a satellite state.
North Korea wants to maintain complete political control, like in Vietnam.
