I’m not aware of another area in ma more Conservative. Mostly older folks who traditionally vote Republican. Now I’m not saying they are hard line Conservative but most are not flaming libtards, just the younger ones.

They have a resistance technique where they lock hands in some way with handcuffs inside a metal tube, one person to the next to form a chain where it can't be pulled apart, they have to cut apart the tube.
So the State Police grabbed the entire chain and sat them on the side of the highway, attached arm to arm parallel to the highway, and kept them there while they got cutting tools or something.
As they sat there, cars were going by and splashing them with either slush or water spray (must have been water splash, because if it were slush, there might be an issue with hypothermia that the police might have wanted to avoid)
But IIRC, car after car gleefully went by and gave them a nice splash, probably even their own Leftist comrades.
I don't care where you are, you don't want to block traffic as part of a protest, especially not work traffic. If you're at some beach during a summer weekend and traffic is blocked, people might roll their eyes.
But when you have had a crappy day at work and want to get home on your commute and people are blocking the road, well, it even pisses off people who might be sympathetic to your point of view. that tends to instead turn the commuters into Jake and Elwood, and it turns you, blocking the road, into an Illinois Nazi.
To people in that frame of mind, what are a few rain-puddles between friends?
