Even before President Donald Trump was preparing to visit the Bay Area this week the White House announced that it foresaw using local police forces to address the problem of homelessness. While Trump did not get specific while making stops in the region, the Washington Post reports that among the tactics being considered are the destruction of encampments, the creation of new facilities, and the forcible removal of homeless people into these facilities.
If this doesn’t send a shiver down your spine, you’re not paying attention.
We’ve seen how the Trump Administration deals with human beings it considers “undesirable.” At this moment, there are tens of thousands of immigrants being held in detention camps, under subhuman conditions, all over the country. People being systematically separated from their families, denied basic human needs like soap, and shuffled between camps so as to make them harder to locate by those on the outside. It’s inhumane, immoral, and downright evil.

We can and should discuss what to do about homelessness.
This writer is completely ignoring the terrible status quo. Does he think it’s ok to have streets full of feces and used drug needles? Streets with the wafting aroma of urine, even in some upscale neighborhoods of SF? Is that status quo acceptable?
Go ahead and criticize Trump if he wants to, but, if they are going to be intellectually honest and defend the status quo, I would love to hear the reasoning behind that. Do San Franciscans like feces? They prefer feces to seeing homeless relocated somewhere where they might just get some help?

He should declare eminent domain for fascist leadership of SF and move the homeless into their homes. Problem solved and it should make all of the caring and compassionate democrats. I’m sure they are happy to share their good fortune.
Trump wants to get them medical help and jobs “shudder”.
The democrats want them to wallow in the street dazed and using the sidewalk as a latrine.

We see SF current plan, is to let homeless urinate and defecate and shoot up drugs and pitch tents and throw garbage everywhere. This status quo is acceptable?
I would listen to what Trump proposes before preemptively dismissing it out of hand.
