Brian May has posted a diatribe against the "violation" of comet Tempel 1. He seems to be tongue-in-cheek about joining the fictional Royal Society for the Protection of Comets from Vandalism, but then it's clear he is ticked off about the planned explosion by NASA.

Why are the leftists claiming that "Deep Impact" is a comet "desecration?" The last I heard, the younger ones were being told that the American right hates NASA and refuses to fund it properly, thus putting the kibosh on proper exploration. (YOU try correcting these people; I give up.)

MAN. I wish they'd make up their minds who they hate!

I always and instantly despised Queen and especially Freddy Mercury. Pompous, pretentious, protentious bombast and baloney.

I liked Queen pretty well. I'm just kind of shocked to find this weird response from someone who holds a PhD in Astronomy as Brian May does. He's apparently also writing a book on 19th century stereo photography. He put his science career on hold as a young man in order to be a rock star..heh.

His having designed and made his own guitar out of fireplace wood and chrome motorcycle is pretty cool.

"comet desecration".

Brian [note: not spelled Brain] 'May' like Comet, but I don't. The last time I used Comet, it desecrated my linoleum. That's why I switched to Ajax.

Seriously, we should nuke the Moon, and save the world from Moonbats barking in the night.

OK, you got me there. Any guy who can make a guitar out of firewood and a motorcycle is OK I guess. But what about his hair?

I just love it when celebrity a-holes come out strongly against something, while claiming to know something about it.
