eCollege provides value-added information services to the post-secondary and K-12 industries. Its customers include publicly traded fopros, community colleges, public and private universities, school districts, and state departments of education. Its mission is to help increase new enrollments and increase student retention.

National University is my alma mater. It includes National University, National Polytechnic College of Engineering and Oceaneering, Spectrum Pacific Learning Company LLC, National University Virtual High School, California Medical Institute, National University International, and National University Institute. Whew! That's a lot.

eCollege is committed to excellent customer service and partnership and unparalleled product division.

NU is is committed to providing access to higher education to a diverse population of non-traditional students.

Both of these commitments are the words of nearly all fopros.

Both of these entities are committed to providing an excellent service and making a profit doing it.

What's wrong with that?

Two for-profit educational services are collaborating to extend education to more students and increase student retention rates; they are also making money while doing it. This article further illustrates the benefits of for-profit education to students and educators alike. See Dr. Belew's blog at TheBizofKnowledge
