How can we fight back?
Vanity | dschapin

Should we be fighting fire with fire? The media and the Kos bloggers seem to be content to dredge up every minor detail from personal lives of Sarah Palin's kids. Since the media is determined to act in a partisan fashion as the enemy I wonder how hard it would be to fight fire with fire.

Now that internet use has become so ubiquitous how tough would it be for us to form a conservative group to investigate partisan media figures. Such a group could publish to the world the scandles and family troubles of partisan media figures like Chris Matthews in the same way that they are raking Sarah's daughter over the coals.

If we exposed just one media person to the sort of scrutiny that they have been giving to Sarah Palin's family it might be a deterant to the partisan hack journalism that has been going on. If this is a bad idea surely there must be some other way to fight back in way that hits them where it hurts, because I am tired of standing still and watching them try to embarrass this good woman's family. Thoughts anyone?

No need to fight back. So long as the media is attacking Palin’s family, voters are fleeing the Obama camp in droves and joining McCain/Palin.

I wrestled with this idea, and brought it up to my wife. She could tell I was furious over this. But she put my mind at ease with five simple words : Why stoop to their level? I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a level headed woman. Women truly do see things in a different perspective.

This is the wrong approach. Not responding to attacks crippled Bush. Obama is playing good cop/ bad cop with the media. McCain needs to call Obama on his sexist attacks. Any person that would attack a Downs Syndrome infant is scum and deserves to be treated as such.

If McCain does not actively attack (and not defend) Obama we are in trouble.

NO!

Other then attacking them on the issues, experience, hypocircy of change with Biden and such.

Let them destroy themselves with the American people. Already happenning as it is.

Keep it “clean” and win.

Perhaps we can fight back by pushing that little conflict of interest and possible influence-peddling issue involving the OTHER Vice Presidential candidate's family ...

Times investigation reveals Biden family enmeshed in D.C. money game Obama denounces

Of course, possible corruption at the highest levels of government is not as important as a pregnant 17-year-old to the Drive-Bys, but it is rather interesting.

We DON'T.

Unlike politcal debate, we let the left bash an independent woman who has her own thoughts, who lives by her espoused morality, and stands by her pregnant daughter.

Let the left show the world their true misogyny. Women who even now don't support Palin will be driven to support her once they see the true face of the "liberal sensitive males"--the face of fear and hatred for women who don't knuckle under.

Relax. Palin is *dominating* the news cycle. It’s all Palin, all of the time.

Without constant propping up in the news cycle, Obama falters...his popularity drops.

Play a little Rope-a-Dope for a bit...let the news media go nuts with mean-spirited attacks on a 17 year old girl.

Then BAM! Palin comes in, says something sweet and sensible, and the public will rally to her defense.

Easy peasy.

Life is good.

You can send info refuting the BS being spreed to radio talks show hosts and to tv anchors.

To make sure I’m not misunderstood...
Responding to attacks is fine.
Initiating them in the manner DailyKos has is not.

P.S. The liberals are behaving they way the conservatives did about Clinton's infidenlity--but they're attacking a candidate's family, not a candidate.

The public is going to have a HUGE backlash reaction to this.

When your enemy is cutting his own throat, don't step in.

And McCain's doing just fine attacking Obama.

Your wife is very wise indeed. What you do when faced with these attacks is you stay on message. You talk about the economy (drilling for oil), taxes, health care and other important voter issues. You let the left (read Democrats) destroy itself in the eyes of voters.

I would like to believe that, but I know that there are only about 1-3% to be affected that way.

While at the same time 3-8% will be driven in the other direction.

We must fight.

And what ever happens, Sarah don’t sit down!

I'd like to engage them in a shoot out. LOL There's no sense in messing around with scum like that. They are evil to the core.

Actually, the best thing we can do is pray for Sarah and her family. I have been praying that God will strengthen them going through this storm, and that they will emerge stronger and with the respect of Americans everywhere. I think the RATS have turned off a lot of people in the way they have dealt with Sarah and her family. It's really disgusting, and IMHO, we don't want to be like they are.

She's not qualified because her daughter banged her boyfriend and got pregnant?

On what planet does this have any relevance on the mother to hold a job position? How does ANY PARENT control a teenager at all times?

We can demand that the MSM give the same time and focus to Hussein's friendship/association with an unrepentant TERRORIST who bombed the Pentagon, Capitol and NY Police HQ!!!!

They continue to 'spike' THAT story.

We ignore them and go forward. The press is obnoxious but she will answer with her usual straightforwardness.

Sarah has done nothing wrong. The family is dealing with an issue that affects many families.

We do not flinch!

Humm... My wife, a serious Christian and judge, said the same thing to me. At the risk of being held in contempt, I responded that they stoop b/c it works and we really can’t let BHO win - I could live with Clinton or Gore or anyone but BHO.

My wife is always right.

That makes sense. I am mad at the mainstreem media but you are probably right that it is wise for us not to stoop to their level.
