To my Conservative Friends:
I almost never pay attention when my wife has on the Oscars, but as I tapped away on my keyboard Sunday night, I could not help myself look over at the TV and ask my wife, "How unwatchable is this show"???
So I decided to write about the things that I found most annoying about the Sham that is the Academy Awards. However, I am not going to go after the low-hanging fruit of the liberal monologues from the likes of Sean Penn (ugliest man alive) or Meryl Screech. That would be too easy....
I want to put out some of the less obvious things that are more than annoying...

the Oscars have become a popularity contest for queers, communists, perverts and all things un-American.
Yes, Heath Ledger was outstanding in “Dark Knight,” and he very much deserved the recognition. No, he was not a saint, by any stretch of the imagination.
That being said, I didn’t watch the Oscars at all, and I was able to get up the next day, check the internet listings of who won, and that was that. Why it’s still being televised is beyond me.

A over indulgent and narcissitic culture gathers together for a night of even more self love, what could be worse to watch then a 4 hr self love fest?
Sean Penn winning a award for a movie that absolutely no one watched?
You could put the viewers of “Milk’ and “Che” into a large high school football stadium...and yet that is the height of their professional careers?
No wonder they are bleeding money in LA-LA land.
The show has become such a PC fest that it has all the suspense of a Globetrotter game. You have the 5 worst movies of the year that nobody, even the actors themselves like, listed as the best. You know the biggest homosexual struggle story will win. The only suspense is what color ribbon they all will be wearing. Who didn’t know the Milk story would win for PC SoddomWould reasons.
Now they can sit in their mansions and let the world know they care.

I hated Sean Penn’s sanctimonious speech about how playing a gay man in a positive light takes such courage.
Sean, when you make a movie showing Al Qaeda or Islam or Arab governments in a negative light.....that’s a risk. Or if you make a movie showing a democrat in a negative light....that’s a risk.
Presenting a gay man in a positive light nowadays is about as risky as saying you love ‘apple pie.’ Get off your high horse.

Because sponsers pick up the costs, 30 + million people watch, and ABC charges 1 million + per ad.

1 - The actors/actresses/parrots
2 - Their opinions, political and otherwise

For comparison, The Dark Knight is at $533,062,050.
I suspect, though I haven’t done the research to prove it, that the true value to the United States of any institution is in inverse proportion to the number of awards it gives itself. Hollywood and the Main Stream Media come immediately to mind.
