As you know On Friday my post was a list of New Years resolutions for President Obama. They were a joke because no wise politician would ever make his resolutions public. But as I've noted before, the President doesn't have much of a sense of humor and so in his Saturday radio address he resolved to do all he could to fix the economy. Resolutions are things you haven't gotten around to doing in the past, is he seriously saying that he didn't get around to this before? Oh, he's going to try harder this year? God help us if he is, if he redoubles his efforts by this time next year the people of Haiti will be sending us help.

Frankly Obama would have been better off just wishing everyone a happy new year and leaving it there because talk like that just sounds desperate. When he started out he was JFK, Lincoln, and Martin Luther King all rolled into one, now in just two long years he's Jimmy Carter and Herbert Hoover. Prosperity is just around the corner, but in the meantime turn down the thermostat and wear a sweater.
Did you know that Herbert Hoover was a self made millionaire and trained engineer? Jimmy Carter had a degree in physics and reportedly the highest IQ of any President anywhere in the universe... EVER, and they say we never elect smart guys as President here in the United States.
Of course, this brings up the obvious comparison to Obama because he's supposed to be a smart guy too. It's okay though, I'm sure this will turn out better, I mean those other two didn't have any experience... uh oh.
