Took my three teens to the 9:30 pm show in Boulder.
Had a great conversation in the car on the way...
On the way home 16 year old son said now he wanted to read the book....another great chat on the way home from the theatre.
Thanks Movie Makers and Cast. We loved it!

PS I gave the opening speech at the 1st Denver Tea Party and talked about Three Ways to go Galt.

Huge Rand Fan!
No you didn't.
One way to go Galt is yank the cable and sat TV like I did 2 years ago. ALL of TV including Fox covers for and supports hussein.
Don’t give away the plot or the vampire scene or when his pony Flicka runs away. ;-)
Me too, Jenny......good movie, great story.
Cool.
I haven’t watched it in weeks, don’t miss it, and contemplating yanking it maybe even tomorrow.
I haven’t been to the movies in years but perhaps I’ll see this one.
How ‘bout “Freddie Got Fingered” ?
I’m going to see it with friends Sunday. Glad you give it a good review.
Not to hijack your thread but has anyone seen Soul Surfers? I have a 10 and 13 year old that want to see it and we need a good family night out at the movies.
I was at that first Denver Tea Party, what a fabulous day!
Finally some good words about it from someone who actually saw it. thanks. If it is only Part 1, where does that part end and when is part 2?
Stop buying the rope!
Went to DUmmieland to see their opinions on this and as expected they all panned the movie without seeing it. They decided to go with whatever Roger Ebert’s review said rather than think for themselves. So it looks like a must see.
As one would expect, both Boston papers hated it. I saw the first showing and loved it...great acting, pacing, casting, and story—a couple humorous bits, and everything from the triumph of the John Galt Line’s initial run to the heartbreak of Wyatt’s torch. If this is successful there will be a part 2 (4/15/12) and 3 (4/15/13).
A facebook group for fans of the movie has many rave reviews and there are reports of “applause at the end” (Danvers MA
had that too) and “packed house” (in Nashville)
My thoughts exactly...this movie could do $100mm like the Passion and libs would still poo poo it.
I would love to see it do so...I am going tomorrow to see the movie.
Small matinee audience in Plano TX. Wife thought it was a snooze. She has not read the book. People need to read the book before seeing this film. My only criticism is that 3 parts is not enough. This book deserves 10.
Yes...perhaps if the next 2 theatrical films are not made they could instead be converted into a TV miniseries.
How do you get good sports?
I quit tv almost two years ago also. Re: sports. You could subscribe to online sports package if you want. I don’t. I prefer to do things myself. I think being a spectator is lame.
