Birtherist response highlights racial undertones of ‘debate’

During the 2008 campaign, questions about John McCain's birth in the Panama Canal Zone on a U.S. military base prompted some to ask whether McCain was eligible to be president, since the Constitution stipulates that anyone not born in the United States is not eligible to be president.

Amid a flurry of news reports, McCain's own campaign announced in February 2008 that it was conducting an investigation. When a bipartisan pair of lawyers announced the following month that McCain was indeed eligible, the issue virtually died--apart from a Senate resolution that pretty much laid the question to rest by attesting to the facts surrounding McCain's birth and citizenship.

But the winner of the 2008 election, Barack Obama, has faced a relentless campaign questioning his U.S. citizenship--and thereby the legitimacy of his presidency--that has disregarded the facts.

Questions regarding Obama's birth certificate have persisted for more than two years, as the president noted Wednesday at a press conference announcing the release of his long-form birth certificate. A vast array of evidence attests to Obama's citizenship--including a certificate of live birth, signed affidavits from people who viewed Obama's long-form birth certificate, confirmation by Hawaiian officials, and independent investigations by news outlets. Nevertheless, "this thing just keeps going" as Obama said this morning. Even after the White House released the long-form certificate of Obama's birth, birther leader Orly Taitz—who has filed unsuccessful lawsuits seeking to obtain access to Obama's birth certificate—sought to cast doubt on the document's authenticity, suggesting that in 1961, Hawaiian officials would have classified Obama as "Negro" rather than using designation "African," which suggests, in her view, a more contemporary concern for "political correctness."(continued)

Awful lot of interviews to bring out a story in less than a day. Did you have them already "pre-loaded" for his BC release, Rachel?

How about this interview?

...Concerning the actual image of what is claimed to be the president’s original long-form birth certificate, Adams said, “If this document is indeed valid – and I’m not going into the questions of validity – it proves what I said before, that the so-called COLBs (Certifications of Live Birth) that were posted online over the last three years are in fact forgeries and not State of Hawaii issued documents.”

Rachel is so silly. Obama won! That's why the concern with his inadequate data base continues to be important. McCain lost! Democrats lost interest.

I think we can attribute typical leftwingtard failures at thinking to excess use of hard narcotics and overuse of forceps on delivery ~ squeezes their teeny tinyheads orsomething.

Am I the only one tired of this crap?

Do I need to use any code words to show how racist I truly am if I doubt the Obungler is a a natural born citizen?

when a person eludes questioning it arouses reasonable suspicion,

Waiting 3 years to release the long form, spending millions in legal battles to block the release is reason for suspicion

Then the suspect states that it was "amusing" to extend the controversy and that those who raised suspicion are guilty of causing "distraction" from his political agenda is not a valid reason to release the evidence and certainly does not remove all doubt.

This incompetent community organizer in the office of president only raises more doubt of his competency

since the Constitution stipulates that anyone not born in the United States is not eligible to be president.

That's not what it says. This is part of a strategy, intentional or not, to make the conversation about the place of Obama's birth, rather than his lineage.

Listening to Juan the crash dummy Williams tonight I was struck by his utter hypocrisy on the matter of republicans daring to bring up the birth certificate issue.

This is the man who insisted that jon carry really won the presidential election because the exit polling was correct and the actual voting precinct votes were wrong.

And he conveniently forgot the years of BUSH WAS SELECTED NOT ELECTED mantra from the left.

Not only was this set up for release today but the manipulation of the stock market was also planned. Who in their right mind could consider Bernanke’s speech as good news for America and the economy.

The racism thing against us is to whip up rage to address the lagging enthusiasm gap occuring among the black voters who supported the WON. Team Obama is in trouble and will ride this pony all the way to the election so we may as well get use to it. He is trying to sell his base whom he has rejected, ejected and neglected in favor of golf. He has lost in every category but he has to have a big black vote, not a medium sized one. Rage has always worked once the race card is used to get the folks to the polls.

The Constitution doesn't actually say that you have to be born in the United States--they realized that the child of US citizens might be born outside the country (for example, if the father was serving as the US ambassador to some foreign country).

Anyway, the question seems to have shifted from "is Obama a natural born citizen?" to "is Trump a racist for saying the word basketball?"

The race card is starting to stink like a diaper laying in the diaper pail too long. I would like to shove it down their throats and make them experience a hurl moment.
