Chapman: ‘There Is No Question Now That the Game Is Over’

The American people are broke.

When 25% of the people have no income coming in and prices for basic goods continue to rise, there will be no upward movement in the economy. Consumers cannot spend, because they have nothing left – their incomes have been eliminated and so too has their credit.

The only hope for growth is more easing by the Fed and more stimulus from Congress, but even that is masking the problem. We may see positive GDP growth as a result, as we have “officially” seen in recent quarters, but this is strictly a mathematical result of rising inflation and increased government sector spending.

It does not mean that there is job creation or traditional consumer spending and economic growth.

The mathematics of this makes our eventual economic destruction an inevitable reality. There is simply no way to stop it.

I think that we are at the very least in for a collapse much like that of Argentina’s ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yerKMQc7-w&feature=grec_index), but as a armed society with a very large entitlement minded population our collapse will be much more violent and I see many many small business wiped out by flash mob looting, and large scale violence (look at what happened just this past Memorial Day and 4th of July weekends)we are seeing these mobs grow bolder and bolder like:

Chicago’s CBS 2’s Jim Williams reports, the problem of mob attacks downtown is much bigger than the weekend beatings, according to beat cops who wanted to remain anonymous.”

And it’s not just Chicago, but Washington DC, Las Vegas, St Paul, Philadelphia and on most major big ‘Blue’ cities are increasingly reporting such flash mobs and gang muggings. Look what happened just this past weekend in Peoria, Il:

I see what I call ‘Pocket Pogroms’ taking place in many big ‘Blue’ cities and if you aren’t a ‘0bamamite yute’ or one of ‘Holder’s People’ it’s going to get Reginald Denny bad for you very quickly.

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

http://www.tomeaker.com/kart/preparedness1i.pdf

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.

Underestimation can be fatal.”

The only hope for growth is more easing by the Fed and more stimulus from Congress, but even that is masking the problem.

The above is probably the stupidest sentence in this article. The stimulus and easing the fed have caused a lot of the problem. De-regulation and elimination of many govenment agencies, including the EPA, will solve the problem, and nothing else. Until we make it easy for businesses to thrive and make a profit we will NOT recover.

In his work “The Year of the Jackpot”, Robert A Heinlein talked about a character named Potiphar Breen who looked for cycles in everything and found matches in the strangest places. One of the things I remember most about that book was when he talked about “The Silly Season” — a time when humans started acting like lemmings, engaging in silly, irrelevant and/or self-destructive behaviors.

In the 30s, it was flagpole sitting, goldfish swallowing, etc. In the sixties, well too many weird things to count. The seventies had streaking, pet rocks and eight inch platform shoes...

The thing is, all of the above were accompanied by deep national angst and confusion, where people lost connection with society and civilization, and just plain started acting weird.

Now we have homosexual marriage, flash-mobs, teens playing “knockout” and God only knows what the next weird thing is going to be. I don’t expect it to be good though.

I’m convinced of one thing though. If there is not a Conservative victory in 2012, there will not be a United States (as it currently exists) in 2016.

The times are both depressingly and frighteningly “interesting”.

Picked up a case of:
Clam Chowder 16 oz @ .99 cents per.
Macaroni and Meatballs 16 oz @ .53 cents per.
Italian Wedding Soup 16 oz @ .99 cents per.
and a case of something else but can’t recall. They were also @ .53 per.

Took pics and posted on the outside of the storage container.

12 Salsa canned in glass @ .44 cents per.

Picked up 4 more Coleman 5 gallon showers to use as transport or even shower. I like their foot print for transport. They just lay real nice.

Are you talkin the black sun shower thingies?

I have one of those, and actually used it camping once. Filled it in the morning, hung it in the sun, and about 6:30 PM me and my wife both got a very nice, very warm shower out of it! Worked great!

One more prophet who has, by his own estimation, examined all available evidence and reached the inescapable conclusion about the state of things in the future.

All the facts presented show conclusively that declarations about what will be require no qualifiers like "perhaps" or "...On the other hand, things like this are hard to predict with much precision, so maybe...". The prophet perceives trends and extrapolates them. This is done with near perfect knowledge of why trends are headed where he sees them going, and perfect knowledge of what factors and counter-factors may determine where they go in the future.

As often as not, the thing the prophet is cock sure of, due to overwhelming and uncontradicted evidence, is doom.

Maybe one of these days one of these guys will be right. He will look at it carefully and understand all the factors at work with piercing clarity.

Then, sure enough, doom will come, just like had he said it would. Doom will come for the exact reason he said it would. Because he was right, we will all be screwed or dead.

He will be a first - or, at the very least, one of very few.

Maybe the author will be that guy. Maybe Al Gore will be.

We’re looking into various ways to heat water simply. Hub is going to make some of them (when he finishes the seventy eleven projects he’s in the middle of..)

There’s one he’s particularly interested in that uses an old gas water heater tank and with a bit of welding and this and that, can burn wood. He’s already collected several old hot water heater tanks - we put an ad in the paper and several people called up to give them, they just wanted to get rid of them. I tried a wanted ad on Craigslist but fools thought it was a scam and removed it.

We’ve lived without “real” hot water for most of the last ten years and it’s about time to have it, even without civilization collapse. We heat it in pots on the woodstove when it’s cold, and just heat on the cook stove (electric) in the summer.

Do it yourself hot water heaters:

(Some of the above a duplicate kinds but give an idea of prices and Amazon at least has reviews. I hope some is useful; I did see a Coleman but it just had a faucet for the hot water, shower attachments had to be purchased separately and it was around $250!)

Measures of GDP growth that count government money are false. Government money is not productive. On net it is destructive of production. Not counting the government infusions of printing press money there could not have been growth in any quarter since the bust. Even counting that government money, the constant revisions to the way inflation is reckoned hides most of the real inflation in the economy and that 1.5-2.5 growth we seem to have every quarter has to subtract the 4-8% of real inflation in excess of the counted inflation. This decline will not stơp until the crash. The longer the crash is delayed by the printing presses and by obfuscation and borrowing the steeper and deeper will be the crash when it comes and the harder it will be to come out of it without some sort of Weimar ending denouement.
