Gov. Rick Perry will win the GOP nomination for the presidency.
Here's why. Mitt Romney is a certified RINO, a ruling class Republican of the type that spawned the Tea Party. There would be no Tea Party were it not for big government, country club Republicans like Mitt Romney.
Herman Cain does not have the money or organization to go the distance, Newt Gingrich is too flawed personally, Michelle Bachmann is out of gas, and Ron Paul is and will always be a fringe candidate. Rick Santorum has yet to gain any real traction and that is unlikely to change.
Rick Perry, on the other hand, has the organization, experience, resources and, most of all, the values to go the distance.

Between the two, Romney and Perry, I sure hope it is Perry.
But I also hope there will be a position for everybody in the Perry presidency.
Except Romney, of course.
In a Perry presidency, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sarah Palin would be appointed Energy Secretary, Newt Gingrich in some official or unofficial serious advisory position, John Bolton Sec of State...
Cain is cutting himself out, because of his attacks on Perry saying he would not even support Perry in the general election and that he would be in anyone’s VP, except Perry’s — who else is there except Romney.
Right now the betting people seem to be betting on Romney, but I hope THAT will not happen.

When I see people who are so sure it’s Romney, I keep thinking about 2004, when a local (Boston) weekly had a cover story that got laughed at, which meekly said, “Why Kerry Still Has A Chance At The Nomnation.”
Everyone just knew Dean was going to get it...
I think Perry MAY ultimately win out because by that point, the Republican electorate will be made up of people who are either for Romney or for someone else, and the someone else supporters will decide, “OK, my candidate can’t get the nomination, but I’ll be damned if Romney will.”
That may be what pulls Perry across the finish line.
The GOP establishment has all but announced that will back Romney, and throw the rest to the wolves. the NE and Washington country club types are calling the shots, and Perry doesn’t fit their mold. He’s close but not quite. The fact that Perry didn’t get along with the Bushs’ has sealed his fate.

Where's the logic in this statement?
A little effort to discover the relationship between campaign funds and candidate appeal will show that Ronmey spends 7 times per day what Cain does. Yet, Romney's appeal has remained flat while Cain's appeal/poll has risen 7 fold to lead the race.

I have lots of questions on these. Forcing children to take an unproven vaccine, or to force the families to go through hoops every couple years to keep control of a decision that should be made by the family, does not fit life, marriage(family), or faith. Endorsing Rudy Giuliani for President also does not meet up with any reasonable standards for faith or family.
I suppose attending a gay rights banquet in 2000 without his wife is also perfectly reasonable for a family values man? Then again, he owned a stake in the largest porn distributor in Texas, The Movie Gallery. I suppose our idea of family values are quite disparate.
We’ve been told over and over that Zero was a shoe in to get reelected also.
If Perry has any chance you’ll know at the end of the next quarter and see what money he’s raised. The first quarter was the low hanging fruit in Texas. After the mumbling and stumbling up until now you would think it will dry up.

The other liability is his “9-9-9” plan, to which he is now indelibly and irretrievably attached. I predict we will soon see businessmen all across the fruited plain come out against the national sales tax component of this plan because of the impact it will have on retail sales, which of course have been sluggish at best for the last four years. People in many places will be paying nearly 20% in combined sales taxes under his plan. For instance, in my home town, the sales tax on every burger we buy will be 18.5%.
He doesn’t consider hidden taxes already on goods and services that will be removed by the 999 plan.
Examples of How Taxes are Hidden in the Price of Goods
Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) has calculated several examples of how taxes affect the purchase price of several goods and services. The ATR figures include the impact of all taxes — not just certain hidden taxes — on prices. According to ATR:
• Taxes account for 35 cents of the cost of a $1.14 loaf of bread.
• 18 cents of a 50-cent can of soda go toward taxes.
• 72 percent of the cost of a 750-ml bottle of liquor goes toward taxes.
• Taxes for an $80 hotel room average 43 percent.
• Taxes account for $63.60 of a $159 airline ticket.
• A $153.09 monthly utility bill consists of $39.35 in taxes.
• Over half the cost of a $1.33 gallon of gasoline is due to taxes.22
A 1992 Cato Institute study looked at taxes somewhat differently, calculating how much someone needed to earn to have enough after-tax dollars to purchase several products. The study concluded that a typical worker needed to earn $17,038 to buy a $10,000 car, and $2,556 to purchase a $1,500 computer.
Now look at the cost of that $10,000 car with the 999 plan.
10,000 multiplied by .09 (Business tax)+.09 (Sales Tax)= 10,000 multiplied by .18= $11,800

The first vote in any contest that is binding upon the slate of delegates to the convention has yet to be cast. There are surprising things that have not yet happened that almost certainly drastically change the makeup and direction of the race.
Nothing is carved in stone, the situation remains fluid. Nobody is completely out, but nobody has anything like a firm lock either.
Personally, I am leaning toward Herman Cain, but then, I was a Barry Goldwater booster as early as 1962, when he had a fair opportunity to take his message to the American people. JFK was, at the time, pretty much of a disaster when it came to actually governing the country and dealing with the Soviets.
Until the events of November 1963. Martyrs always have an enormous advantage over their merely diligent and honest rivals.
So add your state taxes to the 9%. I bet your total is still less that the current 22% hidden tax we have now.
I wouldn’t count on it Pal.
