WHOM DO I VOTE FOR TODAY, WEST SIDE NYC, DISTRICT #8 ?
We've got Jerrold Nadler (aka Jabba the Hutt) over here in Manhattan district 8, and I cannot find a Conservative Voter Guide anywhere on the web.
I have no clue who's running. Any tips on Conservatives (or at least Republicans), and Propositions to vote for/against today?
Try your local supervisor of elections office website. If you don’t mind, why did you wait until now?
You’re just now asking this question? Seriously?
I searched a few times on the web, thinking I’d find a guide of some sort, but never did.
There is apparently nothing, or at least nothing I can locate.
I have almost 15 hours (until 9PM EST) so I’m not worried, I just need some direction.
Yes.
“If your research does not yield a clear answer, pick anybody but Nadler.”
Hahaha. Yes, I’ve got that approach covered. I’m concerned with the other people/items on the ballot.
I don’t even think Nadler the Hutt is up for reelection this year, he’s eating pizza today with hamburger topping.
Not to pound on you, but really, this is what got us all into this mess. If there wasn’t a clear candidate 12 mos ago, someone from the Republican or Independants should have stepped up to run. This is not making my day.
If you have managed to keep intentionally ignorant or un-informed until this late date, perhaps you should just stay home and watch reruns of dancing with the stars.
Thanks for your help, but I don’t enjoy watching celebrities dance.
I finally found a NY voter guide, and it’s not pretty. Several candidates are listed as “Democrat, Republican AND Conservative.” I guess they’re Mitt Romney wannabes.

You’ve clearly never lived in NYC, especially on the Upper West Side (Nadler’s district).
There are many elections in NYC where there simply is NO Republican candidate. The reason you never hear anything about the elections when you live there is that there’s only going to be one candidate on the ballot.
Christ, you’re so right it’s frightening.
I just found my Sample Ballot.
The single “Republican” is also listed as “Democrat.”

I don't see much else for Manhattan.
I checked the League of Women Voters of the City of NY website and the state website.
Shame on you for not knowing!
Yep I just posted their link (see #10 above).
Ok, I guess I’ve got to figure out who the scummiest Democrat judges are, and try voting them out.
This is akin to cleaning a sewer which has been clogged with filth for 99 years.
I’ve got the same thing here in my part of New York. The single Republican is also listed as Democrat. All the candidates are for judges only.
It doesn’t matter, it’s solid RAT country. You’re doomed.
In short, get transportation, get out...save yourself.
Talk about scary!
But the one-party system is alive and well in NYC. I do remember once getting to vote for a GOP candidate (I think it was for Nadler's seat, but possibly pre-Nadler) but needless to say, I was one of a very, very tiny handful who did so.
