The Congressional Black Caucus used National Voter Registration Day to launch a new voter protection initiative. On Tuesday members of the CBC partnered with community leaders as well as local and state elected officials in a series of events throughout the country to unveil “For the People“.

The initiative draws attention to voter suppression efforts, like restrictive voter ID laws, that could prevent many minorities from voting in November. The goal of “For the People” is to provide information on what documents and procedures are needed to vote so that no eligible voter is turned away from casting a ballot.

“We concluded that the [Justice Department] was doing a pretty good job, that the courts seemed to be working in favor of supporting the interpretation that I think most people have of the Voting Rights Act: that you can’t come in and disrupt voting without a pre-clearance from the Justice Department in the states that historically have problems with minority voting,” Black Caucus chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver said in an interview with the Huffington Post..

“The goal of “For the People” is to provide information on what documents and procedures are needed to vote so that no eligible voter is turned away from casting a ballot.”

Fair enough. Follow the rules to register, show ID, vote once, and shut up. No one is asking anyone to do any more or less.

But have to say... If someone is incapble of understanding or finding out what is needed to register and vote; I’m willing to bet that such voters have no idea who the candidates are or what they believe in.

You know, with the amount of effort they are putting into stopping us from keeping the polling honest, they must REALLY have the fraud implemented big time

It would explain quite a lot

The REAL reason they oppose Voter ID is to protect the Fraud, and because a lot of the Voterbase for the Dem’s is made up of Felons, and those who don’t want to be Identified, due to outstanding Warrants on them, or because they’re in the Country illegally, or because they might impair their duplicitous handout cheating, etc.

Started to say it could be worse, you could have Sheila Jackson-Lee. But then I easily thought of several more of these buffoons and am truly not sure which of them is the worst!

Maybe in lieu of IQ testing, perhaps a special competition among Congresscritters to see who should be riding the shortbus. It could start it off with a round of questions such as, “Can an island actually flip over if you move lots of people to one side of it?”.
