Quit dwelling on the small stuff, which the democrat-socialists throw out to distract you, and look at the big picture. The fact that gun control is being debated is a HUGE sign that the left is scared shitless of what the half of the country who knows what they’re up to with their socialist agenda. People are scared, and they know forces are in play to take their livelyhoods and freedoms away. After the last election, people bought enough weapons and ammunition to outfit the ENTIRE indian and chinese armies. The only way the leftists can go up against those kind of odds is to do the slow frog boil, little bit by little bit, and get outside help. In the end it doesn’t even matter, because they can throw all of the UN troops, chinese, illegals, or the free shit army at us, and they wouldn’t even put a dent in the abiliy of Americans to fight for their home.
I think the big push for gun control is simply because few people are willing to speak of who is committing most murders, by firearms and otherwise. Our murder rates would be as low as Europe’s if you looked only at those committed by white people. Illinois without Chicago has a murder rate not far from Finland’s. Vermont has the some of the most liberal gun laws in the US and its murder rate is tiny.
When most blacks lived in the South, or in segregated communities in the North, they were in effect contained, for want of better words, and violence within their community didn’t matter much to white people, and neither did white violence against blacks. The country at large had no objections to white people having guns - their crime rate was low. (Black people in the South would have very reasonable objections.)
Now that the country has experienced the black Great Migration, and desegregation, and a relative increase in the black population, containment no longer exists, the political focus switches to control, and it must be control of everybody.
Here is acknowledging that the black crime rate was much lower sixty years ago than it is now, that evil crazy white boys have done a tremendous job seizing the spotlight in the gun control campaign, and offering my apologies to any Freepers I have offended.
