Bloomberg Wasted $350,000 on Colorado Recall
breitbart.com ^ | 9/11/13 | Awr Hawkins

From the moment the recall effort in Colorado began, money started flowing in from out-of-state gun control proponents and influence flowed in from Chicago. It was all part of an effort to protect state senators Angela Giron (D-Pueblo) and John Morse (D-Colo. Springs) from being recalled. And by extension, it was about protecting Colorado's new gun control laws as well.

When the gun control measures were passed, and then signed into law by Governor John Hickenlooper (D) on March 20, Coloradans in Giron and Morse's districts felt hoodwinked. El Paso County Sherrif Terry Maketa said, "The two senators dismissed [their constituents'] opinions, literally said they did not want to hear from them," thus setting the recall effort in motion.

And even though more Coloradans from Morse's district signed the recall petition than had voted for him in the last election, he continued to dismiss their opinions. He went on television not only to admit he had ignored them in order to pass gun control but that he was actually "proud" he had done so.

Giron was not sorry for supporting gun control either, and stood by her claims that the shooting at Columbine High School in 1999 justified the passage of draconian gun control in 2013: gun control which included "high capacity" magazine bans, universal background checks, and a new tax on all gun sales under the guise of a service fee put in place to pay for all the new background checks.

Yet Giron was honest about the situation she and Morse found themselves in as the recall elections drew closer: "For Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), even if they lose one of these seats, they might as well fold it up. And they understand that."

Conservatives had better not become complacent about this win, not even for a few seconds. There is no longer time to celebrate any conservative progress in this country, because the Left is always sharpening their knives.

And Obama's Organizing For Action (OFA) operatives began showing up in Pueblo to help Giron run her senate office and to help get out the vote.

Should anyone doubt the consolidated nature of the national government, consider the above quote. In an earlier age, no president would dare attempt to influence a state election. Obama's operatives were also deep into the labor law dispute in Wisconsin a few years ago. These are clear violations of separation of powers.

We have little time to arrest the continued accumulation of power among the ruling class.

the Left is always sharpening their knives.

Someone needs to tell them not to bring a knife to a gun fight.

But it wasn't a waste! The economy of Colorado got a $350,000 cash infusion and Coloradans got rid of two (really) bad state senators.

Thanks Mayor Bloomberg! Congratulations Colorado!!!

$350,000 is chump change to Nanny Bloomberg. Only...ever notice that liberals are always running down what they term “greedy capitalists”?

I’d love to hear someone say to Bloomberg, “Filthy capitalist dollars, Mr. Mayor? I thought you `progressives’ never touch the stuff!”

Anyway, congrats to Colorado!

Gun haters never quit. They don't really hate guns (you never see them calling for the police to be disarmed). What they hate is the thought of guns in the hands of private citizens. They worship government - the power of the state, and any challenge to that power is viewed as blasphemy. And you can't have a reasonable discourse with them because their beliefs are not based on reason.

Anti-gunners can't be bargained with first because they have nothing to offer, and second they NEVER keep their word*. They can't be reasoned with because their beliefs aren't based in reason. They don't feel pity or remorse at destroying our rights because they hate the thought of any private citizen even HAVING rights. And they don't feel fear, beacuse there are almost never any consequences to them for their actions ($350k to Bloomturd is like $35 to you or me; plus note how one of them said he'll be back in office in 16 months) One thing is for sure, they absolutely will never quit ever until we are enslaved, we are killed by their beloved police or they are dead.

* in 1976 NYC registered semiauto rifles promising that the registration lists would NEVER be used for confiscation. fast forward to 1992 and David Dinkins' All registered semiautos were forced to be permanently disabled sold or turned over to the police (those stalwart defenders of individual liberty). Any that were not were confiscated and the owners arrested. In the end only about a dozen people had their doors kicked in and were arrested, but even one would have been too many.

I think that is all he is willing to admit to spending. I would be very surprised if that statist jerk only spent 350K on this.

There is ALWAYS plenty of liberal money during election time. Opposite of what the media portrays, the Democratic party is the party of the rich, not the middle class. $350,000 to Bloomturd is like $35 to you or me.

Even a long knife doesn’t have the range of a gun.

The vast majority of gun crime is committed by criminals with a history of convictions for whom the possession of a firearm is illegal. These people are by definition criminals and will not turn their weapons in.

All gun restriction laws are aimed at the non criminals that possess firearms. The government fears honest citizens with firearms.

Hitler: Disarmed his people Millions were murdered.
Stalin: Disarmed his people 15-20 million murdered
Mao: Disarmed his people About 60 million murdered.
Pol Pot Disarmed his people About 3 million killed which represents about 30% of Cambodia’ population.

The list is long in Africa also.

It should be noted of the above 1 was a socialist (Hitler) and 3 were communists. The greatest carnage and murder occurring on the planet has been at the hands of communists and socialists. A close second were the war lords of Japan.

Barrack Hussein Obama is a hard line Socialist Marxist in the mold of Saul Alinsky and Bill Ayers. He is a clear and present danger to our great nation.

Well, well, two sexual perverts and two traitors to the Constitution are rejected FINALLY.

Proof it can be done but this MUST be a call to all of us to not only keep the pressure on but increase it 1000 fold.

ALL Progressives need to be either out of office or in Jail (preferably both) along with all RINOs.

Primary challenges can help us purge the RINOs and the general elections demand that we absolutely destroy every single anti-American democrat/progressive/socialist/communist/Marxist (all the same) at the ballot box.

Illegal influence in my book. Why should a politician in another State be allowed to give money into a political race in another??
