Chamberlain, Churchill, Obama and Appeasement
Dan Miller's Blog ^ | September 13, 2013 | Dan Miller

In this short video, Bill Whittle summarizes much history and shows its relevance to America today.

Winston-Churchill-9248164-1-402

At the end of Mr. Whittle's video, he asks who and where is our Winston Churchill today. He does not provide an answer, but urges us to find him before it's too late.

Can we? Will we? There are very few of Winston Churchill's caliber today and President Obama even got rid of the Churchill bust that he apparently thought disgraced "His" White House.

LTC Allen West (U.S. Army, ret.) stands out. Perhaps there are others with suitable military backgrounds, knowledge of the dangers of Islamism and with the integrity to say what they mean and to mean what they say. Each is an essential quality, but if one of them is absent the importance of the others is thereby diminished.

If we don't find such a man and elevate him to a position in which he can made a difference, will the United States face something similar to what Chamberlain's vision for peace brought the world? We will be far better off if we don't find out.

I think I read that Churchill had duel citizenship, wonder what America would have been like if he had been raised here.

Ummm...kind of a useless thought, because what molded his character and made him what he was, was being raised in England - its schools, its society.

The US was quite different then, education was not what it is today.

I always felt poor Neville Chamberlain got a bad rap. Less than one year after Munich, he woke up and smelled the coffee. Then he had the grace and decency to get out of Churchill's way when it was clear he couldn't lead.

Name even one Libtard appeaser since who has shown comparable decency.

Don’t cry for Neville. He didn’t nearly as bad a rap as he should have, mainly because the majority of the public would be damning themselves in the process.

It took PM Chamberlain rather a long time to wake up, but PM Churchill gave him full credit for having done so in his series on WWII.

Whatever decency President Obama may have toward toward those who disagree with Him is invisible if it exists at all. And, after almost five years, President Obama still not only denies that Islam is a threat, He actively supports Islamists, including but not by way of limitation the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and elsewhere.

Me too. For the way Chamberlain was brought up was that he thought a head of state was a person of integrity. Indeed it was said that the "signature of Herr Hitler" was on the piece of paper. Further more Chamberlain stated that "our two countries were never to go to war again".

Alas, it was not to be. Chamberlain was a broken man. History has not dealt kindly with him. Me? I blame that bloody fool Hitler. (excuse my language).
