Add in the push for zero emission vehicles. The electric ones use batteries (NiMH mostly; Li-ion is another non lead option.)
But China is locking up the rare earth elements, needed for some of these batteries.
No logic to this. But it is not about logic; it is about controlling us.

I would think that your range has banned steel core and not steel cased ammo. Steel core can rip up backstops and penetrate the mild steel plate that some use for targets.

The other ammo mentioned was PMC, "Precision Made Cartridge" from South Korea. This is high quality ammo with brass casings. I have been shooting PMC for 15 years and have had no problems.Thanks for the info.

Obama has bought up most of the ammo on the open market for homeland “security”. The EPA regs has closed down the ONLY lead smelter in the US. I believe that this is much more significant than the amount of discussion on this thread suggests.
