I've concluded, and let me know if you concur or not, that the statement "Opening the Gates of Hell" by inference implies the flow of traffic going one way, outbound only, as the denizens of those condemned to hell, the very worst, want desperately to flee and thus flood the material world with the most extreme malevolence, evil, imaginable, including Satan himself.
By this understanding, it would go without saying that the traffic is emphatically one way, as those having not been condemned certainly have no desire to travel within the gates, go against the huge outflow of traffic, merely because the very sight of the condemned souls is enough to convince anyone to go the otherway and quick.
Getting back to my original point, as posted it the other day, that I thought the "Gates" of Hell were opened on January 21, 2009 when the current denizen of the White House bcame its new occupant.

I would have to concur.
The only defense of my two-way proposal is that we believe people are dying and some of them go to hell. All this occurring while, per your proposal, the gates are open and an outflow of evil spirits ensues.
Maybe... they fly in, but have to walk out. : )
Seriously though, the most believable concept is that if the Gates of Hell have been opened then Earth becomes the new Hell, or at least a suburb of it. Which 'seems' to be occurring.
