You wouldn’t have a picture of a classroom today, or a bar chart from before Brown vs. Board of Education, would you? This isn’t “apples-to-apples.”

400% higher?!

Shirley that is racist. There is no way black men and women* can misbehave that much more than white children.

But they do - and it's the fault of the white children!

BINGO!

Segregation doesn’t work, but Discrimination does, but only to a Society that desires to discriminate between success and failure, good and evil, work and welfare.

Yup, America will continue to fail for a very long time - - - .

i was thinking the same thing... and/or it would be good to have a chart before Brown vs. the Board of Education (of Topeka Kansas)... that probably does not exist...

I think last years report that after 50 years less then 5% of blacks can pass the ACT is more apples to apples.

The reality is, that when they integrated the schools, instead of lifting up the black students to the standards of the white schools they dumbed down all students to the inferior levels, that’s the truth, and they’ve been dumbing them even further down ever since.

“This isn’t “apples-to-apples.”

Right, it’s a complete non sequitur.

I doubt rates of suspension have anything to do with integration, and most urban schools are majority black nowadays, if I am not mistaken.

Bad behavior (or perhaps it’s overzealous punishment) in school has to do with other societal forces, I doubt 13% of all children were getting suspended back in the 50s, although that is clearly just a guess on my part.

About fifteen years go, the girl who helped desegregate Central High in Little Rock came back to give a talk on those days.
she noticed all the students showed a great interest in those bad old days, except the BLACK students who kept their heads laying on the desk.

She then realized that she had put her life on the line, so black kids could go to white schools, put their heads on the desk, and refuse to learn.

“I went through HELL for this?” she said.

We’re supposed to accept that a teenage Asian girl is just as apt to exhibit behavior meriting a suspension as a teenage black male.

Any variances in actual suspensions has to be racism.

When they desegregated my old school, it went from one of the top schools in the city to total pot. Today it has a rating 2 on a 1-10 scale with 1 being the bottom.

No, because most kids understood right from wrong. If they didn't, they learned it with the principal's board of education and again that evening from dad's belt.
