Triumph "Lay It On The Line"
http://youtu.be/Pz26fcmq3S8 ^ | 1979 | Triumph

I heard this wonderful song again recently as bumper music while listening to conservative talk shows this week, and it just feels natural to share with my FRiends. Any comments are welcome.

Rick Emmett is a great guitar player.

He can hit the high ones too.

Saw them live around 1985’ish. Great live show. Drum solo where the drummer was strapped in and the stage turned upside down. Never quite got the acclaim Rush did as a Canadian power trio.

Wow - 1979. We used to drive to a lake with Molsen beer and crank songs like this. The cops would sometimes pull by and tell us “be safe” and then drive off. A different time.

How many people listen to that and are too young to know that they were named after a motorcycle?

I saw them in a high schol gym in Chatanooga back in about 1979. A great three man band. The equal of Rush, IMHO.

I remember being about 13 years old, and a family moved into the house across the street from us. When his parents were away we would crank up the Led Zeppelin, Scorpions, Deep Purple, and even Barry Manilow. That was always fun.

Weren’t they once classified as the loudest band in the Guinness Book of World Records?

Midsummer’s Daydream is probably my favorite guitar piece. Here is a recent live version (2009?) and the original studio version.

Triumph was the first concert I ever saw. Klienhans Music Hall in Buffalo. I think it was 1978 or 79. That was where the Buffalo Philharmonic orchestra played. Of course, I also liked Rush and Asia.

Wow. Krokus was one of my favorites too. That neighbor also introduced me to them, and I was a big fan for years. I saw Krokus, W.A.S.P., and Helix at Sacramento Memorial Auditorium around 1986 or so.

Three man bands are the best. They must all have amazing talent to put a show together. My favorite is sti Motörhead, or Rush though.
