OSCILLOCOCCINUM: Yay or Nay?
Trader Joes ^ | 12/13/14

Posted on 12/13/2014 10:33:00 PM PST by BunnySlippers

I have had what seems like the flu or 2 or 3 weeks. It is a killer sore throat, moderate cough. But it is the sore throat that is killing me.

Anyway, I just dragged myself out to Trader Joe's to buy something tempting and thought I would check out their tiny medicine section.

I saw and bought Oscillococcinum which was hiding on the bottoms half. I know nothing about it except what I just learned in Wikipedia.

Does anyone have experience with this stuff.

The box comes with 6small tubes inside. Dose, for an adult, is to dissolve the contents on one tube every 6 hours up to 3 in one day.

One box has 6 tubes so that means 2 days doses in one box. One box is $9.99.

Has worked for me and widely used in Europe. It does say something link, “use at first sign of illness..”

If I were you I’d immediately start black elderberry (Sambucus). It works.

What you describe does not sound like flu to me.

When I catch a cold, which can sometimes last for 2-3 weeks, I dope myself up on Nyquil at night and the kind of cold medicine they doon’t let you buy too much of for daytime. The pseudo ephedrine stuff. I know people make meth with it, but it works great for cold symptoms.

Actual flu, however is a different beast. I have only had flu once in my life at that was when I was 16.

I was at the video store renting movies when all of a sudden I did not feel so good. I had just enough time to make it home before I was not able to get out of bed for 3 days straight, and then it was gone.

It basically consisted of a high fever, severe muscle aches, and no energy to even eat or stay conscious for longer than a few minutes at a time. it was awful, extremely potent, and nothing like a cold at all.

Luckily I have never experienced sickness like that again in my life.

Black edlerberry is a concentrated liquid extract, it’s delicious, and it prevents viral replication.

It is not an approved or tested drug. That means that no one has ever tested it in rigorous clinical studies to see if it even does anything.

I would never take anything that has not been tested to see if it works.

I believe it is homeopathic. I have never followed that line of health care; maybe another Freeper will know more.

But I can give you three things that might really help you. Viruses don’t have much of a hold on you if your vitamin d3 levels are decently high enough. Start supplementing tomorrow and it may help shorten this virus, but for sure it will prevent most of the rest of them around you this winter. I’d start with 5000 iu a day in a little capsule not made in China.

Next, Liposomal vitamin c can whip almost anything, even help against deadly illnesses. I have personally gotten as far as a very sore throat, plus elevated temp, thought I was a goner, and Liposomal C plus sleep whipped it dead. A teaspoon in Orange juice still tastes crappy but it works. It’s expensive too, BUT IT WORKS. Here is the brand I use but there are others.
http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Liposomal-Vitamin-SunFlower-Formula/dp/B0082MQEOE/ref=sr_1_6?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1418539167&sr=1-6&keywords=liposomal+c

Third, if you can find in a health food store or such, oregano oil (a pure essential oil), it’s another killer to viruses. You take the little tiny bottle,to bed with you and once there, rub the oil on the soles of your feet. If you or anyone reading this gets up in the night and might be shaky on their feet, wear socks so you wouldn’t slip. But you don’t need the socks. It’s amazing and also has really worked to cut short a cold or flu. (Some people do ingest this oil but I do not and Not Gonna. Lol.) this one my little kids will do and they know it works. They don’t like, the Liposomal c so they won’t take it.

Get well soon!

I agree that the sambucus liquid also helps and so do zinc lozenges.

Thank you.

I’ll try your ideas. I’m at the end of my rope. Monday, I’ll see about a doctor.

BTW ... I got very shifty answers about whether Trader Joe’s vitamins are from China. I’m assuming now, that all TJ vitamins are from there.

Actually, I was looking for zinc tabs at TJs. They must have sold out.

The good news is you’re nearing the end of the cycle.

Can’t hurt, really. However, I have my doubts and you could do just as well buying similar products from Utah.

Should be better by Christmas.

Chloroseptic pump sore throat spray, cherry flavor.
I gargled with that stuff and it really helps.
Kindle’s autocorrect, for your amusement and by the way,
wants to spell ‘chloroseptic’ as ‘homoerotic’.

NyQuil is so powerful, it is scarey!

My coworker used to take it as a nightcap to sleep at night. I finally bought a bottle of champagne, removed the label and replaced it with the NyQuil label.

Anyway, I tread lightly with NyQuil.

Here's what that alleged bastion of all knowledge in the universe currently using the alias of Wikipedia has to say...

I have been reading about strep since I read your post. I have strep. No doubt about. Every description fits my symptoms.
