Gun Advice Needed
Vanity | June 11, 2015

Posted on 06/11/2015 9:06:39 AM PDT by PROCON

I received an E-Mail from the NRA, (which I'm a member), recommending a manufacturer, CDNN Sports, as a good place for purchasing AR magazines.

I usually buy AR magazines from Magpul, but these other mags are less expensive.

CDNN is a good company. I don’t know about the quality of their mags, though.

I would buy one and put a couple hundred rounds through it to see if it works as well as Pmags. If the quality is there then go with the cheapest option.

I’m surprised you received that email and not convinced it came from NRA. I don’t know that particular manufacturer, but I would be skeptical of the email.

Support Magpul.

Go Magpul. They not only talk the talk, they walk the walk. Plus, they make great magazines. An NRA endorsement just means they are getting money to plug that product. They may or may not make great magazines, I don’t know. But I’m supporting Magpul on this one. And when it comes to something that I’m betting my life on, I’m not going to go cheap.

Magazines are a bad place to save money. Pay for what you know works.

Those prices are unbelievably low, I would be a bit skeptical.

Importantly, and sadly, with Obama’s EO attack on A2, you may not be able to ask anyone’s advice on guns.

Magpuls cost more because they’re worth it. I sold off all my GI mags and replaced them with Magpuls. Exclusively.

I have bought many things from CDNN with no problems at all. They are very friendly and helpful on the phone. I don’t think they are a manufacturer. Everything I have bought has be manufactured by other companies. You can download their catalog.

“Support Magpul.”

I would except their AK mags suck.

The Zukhov stock works well on my VEPR 54.

CDNN are good folks. But, understand, they are liquidators. They buy surplus, over runs, ans overstock merchandise.

Magpul is tops in plastic mags. Milspec is what to look for in GI mags (D&H is the current best deal on GI mags, followed by Brownell’s).

If you want plastic, stay with Magpul. GI? go with D&H.

BTW, PSA offers both.

They are good but I had to laugh about the “rare find” on their front page right now. The rare find is a Korean 7.62x39mm magazine that actually works. The followers are always messed up and the floor plate never wants to hold together.

CDNN is a good merchant...(they sell what others produce)

but they have “cheap” items...

and “expensive” items...Sometimes their “Sale” really is a sale where the quality-”Expensive” items are cheap....

do your “due diligence” on individual products...

and yes...you usually get what you pay for.

Mags are critical-buy the BEST you can afford.

Mmm, AR mags - I live in Konnecticut and we are not allowed to own those - you know, scary as they are and all that....

Along the line of liquidation, Para Ordnance is gone, absorbed by a conglomerate. CDNN has a bunch of their liquidated guns, some at very good prices (some prices so/so).

If you are wanting a 1911 pattern gun, take a look at what they have.

Buy one an try it out. If it works well, buy more. If not, stick with Magpul.

Alternatively, you can print you own (what I do) though the initial investment makes them very expensive if you go that route. However, that is due to a legal restriction on the size of magazine that one can sell here in Colorado.

CDNN is a wholesaler, not a manufacturer. They have good prices and a wide variety of merchandise. Magpul magazines are the best I’ve found and they support the 2nd Amendment. How about buying some Magpul mags from CDNN?
