I miss Ronnie Dio so much. He was so awesome in the 80s. Sadly I never got to see him live. I actually cried a bit when I heard of his death. He had one of the best metal voices in the world.

On a side note, does anyone remember Alabama Thunderpussy? I happen to be playing an online game of scrabble with one of the former members at the moment and i just realized how difficult it can be to play with a song writer. They are wicked good with words. He’s also a damned good Conservative. ;)

I saw quite a few good concerts in Bakersfield, CA when I was kid in the 80s. It was a great venue--tiny auditorium, small crowds. A lot of the big acts opened there--they could work out the kinks before hitting the big stage.

Dio was by far my favorite. I saw Aerosmith there and sat right beside the left main--I was literally deaf for a month. Saw the Who in 82 in San Diego--one of the loudest concerts I ever attended. Good times!
