Speculation continued late Thursday night that Congresswoman Renee Ellmers and Congressman Kevin McCarthy would resign Friday morning, GotNews.com has learned.
The possibility of a double resignation was discussed at the Media Research Center (MRC) dinner by Daily Caller editor-in-chief Tucker Carlson.
Several prominent lobbyists and staffers have confirmed that the rumors are flying all over Capitol Hill.

This is the same source that posted about the affair. The website was served with a case and desist by McCarthy but stood by the story.
If it weren’t true, why’d he drop out?

Renee’s lawyer served the cease and desist, not McCarthy.

Ellmers, a Roman Catholic, is a “family values” Republican with Christian values. She has said “As a mom, Christian and nurse, my beliefs have deepened through experience... I am pro-family.”
Perhaps he was humiliated by those he felt stabbed him in the back. Just like boner will say I quit.
It was reported as a rumor a couple weeks ago.
This anecdote should tell us a lot about Congress. Power goes right to their heads. (And its not from a sense of accomplishment its just that everyone is always kissing their butts to keep the status quo intact and throw some more money their way). McCarthy actually thought he could have an affair, “keep it a secret” from over 400 fellow critters and their 1000’s of staff, and somehow get the speaker’s chair to boot? It wouldn’t leak? His fellow critters would overlook not just the indiscretion but the arrogance? Shades of megalomania?
They are all swimming in the same water as McCarthy. Washington DC has become a dangerous cesspool and its power needs to be curtailed. Repeal the 16th and 17tj Amendments!
Smoke the monsters out!
