Seems like someone is pushing for Patriots vs Redcoats II. It would be mighty foolish. Such a venture has the potential to get a whole lot of people killed for no good reason.

In 1861 the combined population of the North and the South was roughly 31 million. At the end of the war there were approximately 620,000 soldiers dead from combat, accident, starvation, and disease. Regarding the death toll of civilians, the most comprehensive examination of civilian war deaths throughout history is by William Eckhardt,[9] in which Eckhardt states:
“On the average, half of the deaths caused by war happened to civilians, only some of whom were killed by famine associated with war...The civilian percentage share of war-related deaths remained at about 50% from century to century.”
Adding 310,000 civilian deaths to the 620,000 military deaths we get roughly 910,000 total dead from the Civil War. If a civil war of similar ferocity happened today with 10 times the population (330 million) the death toll could reasonably reach 9.1 million. Is the communist Left so in love with marxism and raw power that they would risk being the majority of that 9.1 million?
Also, who is to say that a civil war in America would not draw in other belligerents? Might the close ties to Mexico and Canada pull them into the war? Mexico has long dreamed of seizing the American Southwest in what they have called the Reconquista. Would Russia try to carve away Alaska? Would China attempt to seize Hawaii and our territories in the Pacific?
A civil war in modern America would also be a race war. The current government under Obama or any other Democratic president would have to increasingly conscript the 3rd world immigrant populations that are heavily concentrated in urban areas for troops and, if the war lasted long enough, the white population would become rebels./p> America has also changed drastically since the Civil War. In the Civil War the North had an overwhelming industrial and population advantage which is no longer the case today. The only real advantage the left would have is control of major ports. The rebels would have the majority of the private fire arms and the knowledge on how to use them effectively in an insurgency. guns; gun ownership is very heavy in the southeast, the southwest, the Intermountain West, and flyover country. Also in a war where everyone is fighting and everything is confused all industrial and military assets are open to both sides. Leftists must also keep in mind that Obama is Shit-Midas - everything he touches turns to crap. The average American has watched the federal government kill American citizens and is ready to fight back. They watched the Waco massacre in Texas, the murders at Ruby Ridge, and other federal law-enforcement atrocities and they are ready to react. The Bundy Ranch standoff that resulted in hundreds of heavily armed citizens coming from all over the country defend a rancher from the BLM and forcing them to standdown freaked out a lot of people in government. The average American has begun to despise the federal government. Just a cautionary warning to the left before they attempt to double-down on tyranny.
