The Liberal Gene

Liberal friends are so infuriating, Logical discourse is almost entirely lost upon them: We can’t change their brains – we can’t change their minds

I’m not making this up.

Donald Trump’s Muslim Proposal inflamed so much passion among Liberals they unconsciously revealed themselves to be the wild-eyed, emotional, illogical sorts we always knew them to be. The hysteria was so widespread, however, it begged further investigation into the eons-old question: Where do Liberals come from?

At last, we have an answer: The Liberal Gene.

Admit it, Liberals infuriate Conservatives because Liberals think emotionally rather than logically. Consequently, when you point out a Liberal’s illogic, they become emotional rather than logically considering the allegation. This makes it impossible to argue affectively with a liberal. The unspoken message conveyed to the Liberal, the inescapable message is, upon any topic, “Why are you so ignorant?”

Fundamental error - assuming they think.

Another fundamental error: having liberal friends.

I do notice that on comment sites liberals are always posting stupid liberal meme stuff. If left alone, they’re usually surrounded by head-bobbing sycophants (uhhh, yeah...redneck teabaggers is so stupid). But if you call them on it, or demolish their arguments, they become like deer in the headlights. Sometimes they’ll respond with word salad that is hilarious in its incoherence. Usually it’s just when the insults start pouring out.

On our local newspaper boards, there is one guy who thinks he is the authority on everything, and provides links to studies that prove guns are bad or taxes are great, or some such nonsense. It’s fun to quote lines from the link that contradict his argument, and prove that he either didn’t read or doesn’t understand his own source.

It’s the antidepressants. All liberals are on them, and they change the brain. That’s why the military won’t let anyone in who’s ever been on them. Liberals are broken.

“That’s why the military won’t let anyone in who’s ever been on them.”

When did they start that?

friend (frĕnd) n. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. It appears Sean lacks the understanding of the definition of the word hence his difficulties arise.

Oh, they think. They always look at the facts, and invariably do the wrong thing. That proves they know what is right, and by some glitch in their brain, they do the opposite.

“”Another fundamental error: having liberal friends.””

How about relatives? I have steered away from discussing politics with a sister for over 60 years. This week I made an “innocent” remark (well, maybe more of a dig) about Jimmy Carter and his anti Israel stance - I didn’t think it would cause a firestorm..She hung up on me. I called back the next night to see if she was still mad at me and she said “I wasn’t mad; the conversation just wasn’t going anywhere” so she just hung up. Yeah - right! BECAUSE she didn’t want it to...

She doesn’t have a computer so she soaks up everything from the MSM. I was told that I get my information from the internet and “you can’t believe what you read on the internet” because that’s what someone told her. HUH???? I tried to tell her it’s like opening a book - look up anything you are interested in; people, places and things.

On the second call I told her I’d mailed her some articles I printed from the internet about Carter and his anti-Israel position that appeared in USA Today and other publications - merely posted on the internet and I added Israeli newspapers and she hung up on me AGAIN!!! I wanted her to know (big mistake) that we are reading exactly what she reads from the newspapers and magazines for the most part and the internet is not a bogie man....She wasn’t buying it!

The mention of Carter and Israel in the same sentence sure triggered a wild eruption. She loves Carter and has always digested everything about the Holocaust and supports Israel and I guess the contradiction is too much to handle.

Oh! Yeah - she detested Billy Graham because he visited Ronald Reagan in the WH. We haven’t lived near one another for 60 years and that was probably for the best. Occasional vacations and phone calls and that’s it.

I can’t deal with someone who just walks away from a conversation simply because they have their set ideas about a subject - not willing to listen or learn. My mistake, I guess!
