Trump can take at least six states Romney lost and win in November
The Coach's Team ^ | 3/23/16 | Kevin "Coach" Collins

Willard Romney lost in 2012 because he was a terrible candidate who, by Election Day, showed he would rather lose than appeal to conservatives. Romney won only the states he was supposed to win; nothing more. His attitude that “looking good but losing was better than appealing to conservatives” chased some 4 million conservative voters away. He followed George W. Bush’s stupid lead and did not fight back against Harry Reid’s lies about his failing to pay his taxes. Instead he allowed himself to be mocked and led around by the nose by Reid and the media over a totally manufactured “issue.” Willard didn’t care because falling on his sword to deny conservatives a victory made him a hero to the Republican Establishment something far more valuable to him than what we think about him.

Now there is a movement to swing the political pendulum of the Republican Party to the right with Donald Trump and far to the right with Ted Cruz. The question this time is how much conservatism is enough to bring back those that Willard chased away while not scaring off other, less conservative voters. The mantra that “Conservatism works every time it is tried” is simply wrong as evidenced by the failed campaigns of Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Rob Astorino and Ken Cuccinelli. America is only a slightly right of center country. Hard right candidates can’t win the presidency.

Cruz is right to hard right. Trump is soft right to center. Cruz will not pick up any states Romney lost...

False on its face. What states were flipped by those four million? When did the four million vote before they didn't vote in 2012?

Romney didn’t even try. He wrote off half the electorate and coasted the last 6 weeks of the general. Somehow he musters the energy and moral outrage to attack Trump though.

Romney threw that race to Obama. Trump will fight for every vote and he has an easier opponent - Hillary.

The attack on Trump’s wives has put Congress in play.
They GOPe will spin it otherwise, but women are not happy.

Ask Cruz - Rush says Cruz told him that 54 million Christians sat the last election out.

"Trump can win New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Nevada which would put him at 279 Electoral votes. There is no “pie in the sky” in this assessment. It doesn’t rely on Trump victories in California, Illinois, Massachusetts or Maryland."

The author doesn't think ANY Republican, even Trump, winning New York or Connecticut is a pie in the sky notion? Both states are to the left of Massachusetts.

Well for one thing Trump won’t give up in mid September.

He won’t need to: FL, NC, VA, MO, OH, MI, IA, NH, ME, NV alone=victory.

Add in possibles like PA and WI and CO, even NJ which is in play, you have the makings of a 350-60 vote victory. Pretty YUGE.

Voter fraud must be exposed, documented for the courts, and prosecuted. I’m sure there are thousands of retired law enforcement, military, and others willing to help.

Plenty of Christians who are eligible sit out every election. There’s no statistically sigficant evidence that more sat out in 2012.

That’s the fallacy of the GOP whoring after minorities. There are many more unregistered and other non-voting, self-described Evangelicals that could be persuaded.

The thing is, if Trump somehow puts New York in play, Hillary will have to devote resources to holding a state that she probably thought was a gimme. She may have to tack left, or make New York promises that may weaken her elsewhere. It is an interesting dynamic, even if Trump doesn’t win there.

No Republican will win NJ. Christie was our last chance for a state wide victory and has done a decent job. He went from 80 approval after Sandy down to the 20s. Write off Jersey

Trump doesn't win NY either. NYC drives the state. No way they pick him over Hillary. Plus NYers know Trump, he's not well regarded.

This Coach guy is lost.

“Romney threw that race to Obama.”

Bullied by Candy Crowley. What an awful candidate.

Did you see the ‘elephant in the room’ last night during Hillary’s speech? She said what a good job 0dunga has done and talked about ‘turning this economy around’ at the same time. Quite a magic trick that none of the pundits talked about. Unreal.

Remember Nixon! He won all states except Mass and Washington DC (but who cares about DC).

But you are probably right! in this day and age of massive voter fraud and the total acceptance by the general pubic, if their candidate did it better than the opposition.

Penn is fool’s gold. A total wast of time in a national election.

That has been my point about Trump. Romney was polite and deferred to Obama. McCain was polite and deferred to Obama. What good did it to them? They lost. I say, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. If my side is going to lose, I want to at least see the other side bloodied. The press is never going to say that our guy looked presidential, or was gracious. Trump is the antithesis of that. No PC, none of the time.

“The Coach” is delusional if he thinks Trump wins any of these states. He quotes no polls, a cursory examination of RCP has Trump losing to Hillary in New York by 19, in Florida by 8, in Ohio by 6, in Pennsylvania by 8.

Trump’s nomination elects Clinton and loses the Supreme Court for a generation. An unmitigated disaster for Conservatives.

I live in PA, and your statement is 100% spot on. Philthadelphia and Spittsburgh are all that matters.
