Keystone blowback: TransCanada sues Obama for $15 billion
Canada Free Press ^ | 07/01/16 | Dan Calabrese

Seven years of foot-dragging followed by a political denial cost the company a fortune.

The boss explained in detail back in November why Obama’s refusal to permit the Keystone XL pipeline was a load of crap. We’ve talked about it a lot here, and when we do, we usually focus on all the economic benefits to the United States that were lost because Obama chose to cater to his extreme leftist environmentalist base rather than govern like a serious person.

But we didn’t focus quite as much on the blow this dealt to TransCanada, the company that proposed to build the pipeline and lost seven years with nothing to show for it when Obama foot-dragged its application as long as he could, only to finally reject it just because that’s what his political agenda dictated he should do.

“TransCanada is not suing in a U.S. court, but rather is bringing the matter to a panel empowered under the North American Free Trade Agreement to adjudicate such matters. It’s impossible to see how the Obama Administration wins that case on the merits, but I suppose they could delay and appeal for years without ever paying a cent.”

This will be great fun to watch.

NAFTA will bite Odumbo on the backside with this one. he will be unable to block it through legal challenges. This treaty has provisions that prevent the trade agreement. Odumbo believes because his political agenda is not in correlation with NAFTA, he can drag his feet. The problem is when he had Congress pass TPP, ne simply forgot that he gave board powers to other nations to utilize powers given in NAFTA to be utilized in TPP. Canada is one of those partners too. So in essence Odumbo gave powers to other trade partners of the Pacific Rim nations to sue in court fr breach of contracts when the one party performs needless delays that reflect careless neglectful hardship on free trade partners. Basically Keystone will win and the US will have to pay the 15 Billion. Duh Odumbo the wonder boy attorney whom probably was given his Harvard Law Degree based on his minority status - ignoramus with dark colored skin, former international student of Columbia University. Post graduate Education completely paid for by saudi Arabia. saudi Arabia in turn has donated a significant amount of cash to the Harvard University to use with International students from Muslim Countries, preferably Sunni countries

"Too bad they cannot sue him personally."

Bury him up to his head on a Hawaiian beach for a couple of years.

Boy, will there ever be forum shopping on this suit.

Motions will fly, but the real question will be, “Who appointed the judge?”
