Bad News For The Bakken As Obama Administration Blocks Pipeline

The Obama administration shocked the oil industry last week, pulling the plug on a major oil pipeline from the Bakken that had become a flashpoint between a pipeline company on the one hand, and a growing coalition of Native American tribes and environmentalists on the other.

Everyone was anxiously waiting a Friday ruling from a U.S. federal judge, who was weighing a request from the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to stop construction on the Dakota Access Pipeline, a $3.8 billion 1,168-mile oil pipeline that would run from North Dakota to Iowa and Illinois. The pipeline would threaten sacred lands and drinking water resources for the tribe.

Dakota Access exploded into a national controversy in recent weeks, as protests against the project swelled and violence broke out after protesters were attacked by dogs. Environmentalists have been keen on turning the Dakota Access Pipeline into a rerun of the Keystone XL saga, elevating the project to a national symbol around which protestors could be rallied.

How an oil pipeline threatens sacred sites and the water table......I will never know.

These morons do realize that the oil flows through the pipe right.....it isn’t an irrigation canal. It’s an above ground pipe.

The pipeline would threaten sacred lands....

So exchange the “sacred lands” for lots of jobs and a legal promise of investments instead of sitting around and getting drunk in 150 year old sorrow or committing rape on a large scale.

And the enviros. I HATE THEM. I HATE survey questions that ask what I’m doing for the environment!!!!

NOT A MOTHER ####ING THING!!!!

See the environment’s been around for billions of years, i’m lucky to see 75 the way i live.
I doubt the environment gives a flying #### about how i treat it.

Of course, BNSF Railway, owned by Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, will make a killing transporting oil from Bakken. Of course, Buffett’s endorsed Illary in late 2015. Big surprise this pipeline was canned. Follow the money!

His payments from the middle east must be huge. Let’s watch what he spends when he gets out.

Another body blow to the rule of law.

No laws broken, but the dictator does not like the Court ruling.

Easy peasy - Issue a diktat “asking” for a company to stop - or else.

“His payments from the middle east must be huge.”

They do not have to be. He does this kind of stuff for fun. I bet he gets a great kick out of throwing wrenches in the machinery like this.

It threatens them by going around reservation land instead of through them and thus requiring payola for eternity.

This has always been about the failure to pay protection money to the tribal powers. The useful idiots just line up to do their masters bidding and have no effing clue.

I’m not sure what standing the Indians have if no part of the pipeline is on the reservation, and no ‘sacred Indian items’ are anywhere near the construction. That it has led to international protests shows that outside money is behind the sideshow.

Bingo! And Buffett has being hanging around with Obama for quite some time now. Eventually Obama will get around to forming his own scam Foundation. Watch for Buffett to be a big contributor.

I have a friend who works for the Feds in Minerals, Mines and Resources. He pays out the royalty checks, a lot of which go to Indians.

None of them turn down the royalty checks. They do bitch when the price goes down however.

But they don’t have to pay royalties because it doesn’t go through any reservations, thus the drama. Bet it doesn’t go through any “sacred sites” either, those are all on reservations.

We need to give the Indian tribes some fancy beads and some gently used blankets.
