I’m just thinking aloud here, but you have to be a special kind of stupid to rob a BBQ joint, especially in Texas.

if the owner needs help suing the deceased robbers estate (cost of replacement rounds, cleaning weapon, etc.) put me down for $20. It he has a concrete pad for his dumpster I would guess that the pad will need cleaning. Maybe muriatic acid and a power washer.
The inconsiderate thief probably bled all over the nice white concrete.

The 70-year-owner of a Houston barbecue joint shot and killed a man who tried to rob him over the weekend.Seems to be a theme. The day I turned 70, I solidified an attitude problem about taking crap from anybody. Hope to avoid the armed and criminal types.

I’ll have to stop by there and pick up some chow.
Be passing not far from there on Wednesday.

...you have to be a special kind of stupid to rob a BBQ joint, especially in Texas. Stupid knows no bounds.
I saw a video of two hood rats trying to rob a GUN store a couple weeks back.
Old guy behind the counter only notices something's afoot when the lead hood rat is raising a pistol in his direction. In a flash, he draws and fires his own weapon, hitting the perp twice in center mass.
The would be robber instantly falls to the floor and expires, while his accomplice disappears out the door.

They knew where they were. NE Houston is not a place I’d go to get BBQ or anything else.

Now, now... I’m sure they were good boys, just starting to turn their lives around, and planning to go to college. Perhaps they were aspiring rappers. I’ve noticed a high mortality rate for aspiring rappers recently.

The best Bar B Q place I remember didn’t put any sauce on the meat. There was a fairly large selection on each table. Really good. They cooked it over an open pit which you could watch as it cooked.
I will not name it as I have heard that it has gone down in the last 40 years.
