John Bercow is facing a fight to hang on to his job amid a major backlash over his 'grandstanding' decision to ban Donald Trump from addressing parliament.
Furious Tory MPs are considering forcing a vote of no confidence in the Speaker after an extraordinary intervention in which he branded the US President 'racist and sexist' and said he would not authorise the use of historic Westminster Hall during the impending state visit.
The comments were cheered by many MPs in the chamber, who have been heavily critical of the travel ban imposed by the White House on nationals from seven mainly-Muslim countries.
But there is a mounting backlash from politicians condemning Mr Bercow for abandoning the Speaker's traditional neutrality and wading into international politics.
Tory backbencher Alec Shelbrooke accused Mr Bercow of 'grandstanding' and 'student politics of the worst kind'.
He told MailOnline that the Speaker had effectively validated human rights abuses in other countries such as China - because they had been welcomed to parliament....

Pure BS. The T Man is not racist nor sexist. Okay maybe he was a little sexist when younger but to honest I’ve notice most women are more sexist than he ever was. It’s called being human and somewhat competitive; completely normal up to a point.

He was talking about groupies who throw themselves at him because he’s rich. Isn’t that what rockstars and billionaires are supposed to DO with groupies?
I wonder if the speaker has been paying attention to what nationals of these countries have been doing in Europe, especially to women? Is he even aware that they are setting up enclaves where no Europeans are allowed to enter? What are they doing in those enclaves?
Perhaps, instead of condemning America for not wanting to import invaders with open arms, he should start worrying about how to get the invaders out of Europe before they destroy Europe.
Exactly where my thoughts were going as various parts of the EU and the UK slide closer to the third-world abyss. I think the real problem here is that Trump has held up a mirror for them to get a good look at where they are headed so what we're hearing is mostly misguided anger from the Speaker and others like him.

True true. Maxine Waters insistin Trump will be impeached saying they don’t need a reason to do it...So wait a minute - Obama can commit one act of treason after another for 8 long years, blatantly financing terror via Iran for one example and THAT is OK.But the guy trying to save lives must go.
With fascists the ends justify the means.
They will write laws, expect moral behavior and truth of anyone that is not a fascist.
But will not adhere to same rules, rules laws are for the serfs not the rulers.
