Establishment Republicans peddle growth-killing carbon tax at White House

But President Trump’s “default position” on climate change is that “most of it is a bunch of bunk”

A group of Republican insiders was scheduled to meet at the White House today to push the Trump administration to embrace slapping carbon taxes on the nation’s floundering economy, Sean Moran reports at Breitbart News.

On the campaign trail President Trump came out against enacting a carbon tax. “I will not support or endorse a carbon tax!” he tweeted May 13, 2016. White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus previously said that Trump’s “default position” on climate change is that “most of it is a bunch of bunk.”

No quicker way to ensure defeat than to embrace this.

These RINOs would have better luck selling home furnaces in Sudan than selling a carbon tax to President Trump.

Carbon tax or BTU tax - dead on arrival.

These are taxes on consumption, pure and simple. And their application is not equitable in any way, shape, manner or form. The fact is, like a VAT, they would be hidden from the view of the consumer, and reflected negatively in terms of economic growth and economic stability.

A consumption tax, applied only at the point of the end user, would be both transparent, and under sharp scrutiny by those who are subject to the tax. If such a tax were applied in lieu of ANY income or property taxes, a lot of economic decisions would look quite different. The manner of enforcement would also be quite different.

What a sad and pathetic attempt by a bunch of washed-up RINO’s to use a threadbare political theme (global warming) to squeeze out just a little more cash and influence for themselves and their cronies

Kick their @sses to the curb!

It's a TAX. All taxes are paid by you, the American public. All taxes are passed down to the consumer, you.

Follow the money, who benefits?

The biggest problem in our nation is that like our forefathers, there has been taxation without representation. The Senate is full of people beholding to those who paid for their election. They do not represent the individual states, as our Constitution spells out.

Repeal the 17th amendment. Establish term limits for all Federal elected offices. Make any tax subject to a two-thirds majority.

So disappointing to learn that Jim Baker was one of the ringleaders of this scam proposal. He was a fine chief of staff for President Reagan.

Perhaps, but Baker is a Bushbot through and through. He has not been trustworthy for a very long time. Trump would be a fool to go along with this because it would essentially be an admission that climate change is real (not to mention more bad tax policy).
