The little story that has ALWAYS been true for the past 50 years is that ALL STARVATION in the world is caused by politics in some way...and this is no exception.
In other words, even if a country is screwed up, if it has a government that is willing to stay out of the way, its people will get fed, either from domestic production, international aid, or both.
This is sickening to watch...but whether we want to admit it or not, this is the END GAME of Socialism. The money is dry, but the government will still not let go. And to preppers here (me included), this has been going on for at least 2 years now in this country. Try adding up the amount of food needed to survive that long...very difficult - you need a shipping container’s worth, just for one family, if not more. Sometimes it’s just better to leave (if you can), until things improve.
As far as I know, our problem here isn’t price controls on food; it’s regulation, which can put farmland out of productions for an endangered species or what not, and it’s the Fed printing money, which can produce a creeping inflation tha steals the value out of people’s paychecks.
Those can effectively cause food shortages for some people.
