Dakota protesters: Fine, we’ll just oppose every pipeline we can think of

Mindless.

They failed to stop the Keystone XL pipeline, which they said posed particular environmental hazards. They failed to stop the Dakota Access pipeline, which they say represents an adulteration of sacred Indian grounds. OK. Whether you agree with their objections to either pipeline (and I don’t), at least they offered some specific rationale for why they were opposed.

It’s not as if they’re just going to mindlessly oppose every pipeline anyone ever proposes, because that would be nothing more than knee-jerk opposition to energy-related infrastructure driven by reflexive opposition to fossil fuels. You do that, no one is going to take you seriously anymore because they’ll know you just hate oil and you’ll concoctt some sort of rationale to oppose everything that facilitates its use. Right. Good thing they’re not going to do that.

Please do. That way, we’ll get them all built.

And BTW, when do we start drilling in ANWR?

I don’t mind them protesting, but they need to pay for the cleanup of the messes they leave behind. We should start by making the organizers personally liable.

Not only did these ecological environmental experts leave massive trash in ND, they also left several “pets” to fend for themselves after they left....

Worthless individuals...all of them....

The protestors are an environmental hazard.

The problem is that they lie about the issue so badly that gullible individuals believe the narrative and support these idiots, then when the truth gets out, it’s too late because the lie has become truth.

In this case, it’s not on indian ground, it won’t pollute the river, and here’s the kicker, it’s right next to an existing oil pipeline that has never been nor will it be a problem.

Oil isn’t like the old days where the wildcatter blows off a gusher of oil. If they spill a quart of oil on the ground, they need to do a significant spill cleanup and probably write up a ream of reports.

Oil drilling is an extremely precise, clean and modern operation.

Not a peep from the snowflakes about the oil operation UP stream from their protest....That happens to be run by the Indians.

Imagine that!

It'll be prime mosquito season soon in Louisiana. Lots of luck down there, protesters!

They love the idea of high speed rails cutting through private lands.

On whose nickle do they have time to protest?

Take off of any disability or welfare roles if they are healthy enough or have the extra time to protest.

I saw fifteen of these Dakota Pipeline “protestors” last Friday....in Ellsworth, Maine of all places.

They were on the sidewalk facing a busy street in the commercial section of town, alongside a TD Bank branch. I had business at the bank, so we parked in the parking lot.

Most of these loons were gray-haired women in their 40’s and 50’s, and one black woman with dreadlocks who was younger.

They were carrying signs that said, “Divest,” “NO DAPL” with a circle around the words and a horizontal line across the circle. About eight of them were holding a long, black paper snake with a serpent’s head high in the air. I guess that was supposed to represent an oil spill. They looked ridiculous.

Meanwhile, the “protestors” parked their cars nearby, in the parking lot of a Ramada Inn. I guess the irony of the fact that their cars run on gasoline, which is derived from oil, was lost on them.

When I drove by a few hours later, they were gone. Probably went back to Hogwarts.

These are trolls, or as Trotzky called them, kibitzers. They want no responsibility before the law to care for land but will harass those who have land or responsibility (military) for the jobs they do all the time. They are the communist back seat opinion makers, in the ilk of that idiot Obama and his Alinsky parasitic ghetto cohorts.

The real land carers are the farmers who sold off their right to cultivate the land to Conservation Easement in exchange of a tax break. These people, if the land gets trashed, they get penalized by the recepient of the easement (usually a local water company). Notwithstanding some call it a scam (as Colorado demanded the tax breaks be paid back), the envirowackos have no such land they own and or are responsible for before the law. They only invade, block and harass, much like a guerrilla attacking infrastructure.
