Trump: Don't worry, I've won over the skeptical Republicans on the ObamaCare replacement

Oh?

Some trick if true, although it wouldn’t be the first time Trump has made a seemingly improbable declaration of himself as the winner only to turn out right. But if he actually pulled this off, I’ve got to know how:

US President Donald Trump, after meeting with Republican lawmakers skeptical of the Obamacare replacement plan, announced Friday that he has succeeded in winning their support for the controversial healthcare overhaul.

Either the GOP will lose Congress in 2018 or Trump will make a Jedi look like a babbling infant.

There have been a whole lot of negotiations and changes made. So I will wait and see what the final bill looks like.

It’s the oddest thing to feel like I can trust my Representative.
That wasn’t the case with Cantor.
If they change it enough so Dave Brat thinks it’s OK, then I will support it.

I think Trump has a master plan...killing this thing slowly, methodically, one bill at a time. I am sure of it.

One way or another Trump is all in on this. So Pubs need to decide if they want to hand Trump a defeat on his first major policy agenda item. If that happens I believe every other item will be picked apart. This is the first step, not the finished product. I hope some of the bigger problems get fixed but I don’t think doing nothing is an option.

“There have been a whole lot of negotiations and changes made. So I will wait and see what the final bill looks like.”

That’s what I’m doing.

These people screaming and posting stuff in huge fonts aren’t clearing anything up.

If it was just relying only on Establishment type Rinos we’d mostly end up with bad legislation, but this is Trump, so I give him more room to operate. He is relentless who won’t stop with this. He’ll keep on going with a medical care system that will be on based on free enterprise and market forces. Trump will eventually blow away the state care monopoly system to a 50 state and territories free market...or maybe worldwide competition buying health insurance for citizens.

Now the former anti’s..are sitting around wondering,”Did all the other guys secretly promise to sign on and I’ll be the only one against?” “Will I be hung out to dry?”

I am not happy that he is for this, because it is not a good bill at all. This is not what the American people wanted President Trump. Not even close. Tell them to go back and get it right, for you and the country. Do not let this piece of garbage be your downfall.

Changes are not what was promised, nor is it going to win the day. They need to go back to the drawing board and get it right the first time.

I suspect even long before the election, President Trump had developed a powerful “brain trust” at the Heritage foundation, whose approach to policy is one of extraordinary strategy.

Such strategies are used in major corporations to create a flowchart and timetable to accomplish objectives that seem impossible until executed in a very choreographed and professional way.

In this case, every congressman and senator have to be part of the calculation. Every potential voice of opposition have to be examined as to why they oppose and what can be done to insure their support.

Then, when it comes about, seeming miracles happen. Fears among allies are alleviated, confidence and momentum build, then every step of the process is shepherded.

“killing this thing slowly, methodically, one bill at a time”

Bingo. The Mark Levin crowd needs to understand that 5 GOP senators wrote a letter saying that Ryan cuts too much. Any bill that cuts even more is DOA.

I really like Trump. But he has big government tendencies when it comes to education and health care. That said I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best.
