Which is a totally false assumption. There is no Constitutional provision for an 'appointed' President, under any circumstances...............

True. But a lot of lefties truly believe that if Trump was gotten rid of then Hillary would become President. These people know nothing of the Constitution nor do they care.

Well...not so much. Gerald Ford was the closest thing to it. Though he was overwhelmingly confirmed to replace Agnew, Nixon sought advice from senior Congressional leaders about a replacement. He could have selected anyone...thus, an appointment...more or less.

The 25th amendment Section 2 states that if the vice president can no longer serve for any reason, the serving president will nominate a candidate, which the House and Senate must approve.
