.22 Ammo Prices Dropping
gunwatch.blogspot.com/ ^ | 6/16/2017 | Dean Weingarten

I have been tracking .22 rimfire ammunition and availability for some time. The .22 Long Rifle bubble has lasted for years. With the election of President Trump, I expected the bubble to bust. Instead, it has been deflating, like a balloon with a pinhole leak. The demand for .22 ammunition has been so great that a 20% increase in supply, and a Second Amendment friendly administration did not bust the bubble. Instead, they stopped the growth, poked a hole in the bubble, and started a downward spiral of prices.

At Cal Ranch Supply, I expected there to be some .22 ammunition at high prices. The prices were above historical averages, but they had dropped considerably. There was plenty of ammunition available in several brands. The man behind the counter and I had a discussion about the situation. He showed an excellent practical understanding of basic economics.

Supply of .22 was no longer a problem, he said. The store did not have any limits on purchase. Walmart has dropped their 3 box limit nationally, as well.

The local Walmart had them at $5.99, and at the time limited to three boxes.

Remington plant is 10 miles from me here in Central AR, they crank out 5mm-7mm rounds a DAY in .22 LR. I don't understand how a 50 rd box isn't $0.99!!!!!

Hope the scalpers are like the Hoarders show.....buried under it kind of like the beanie baby hoarders who thought they would become billionaires.

If you need something to feed it to, Browning is giving a $50 rebate on any rimfire purchase until July 15.

Demand is still greater than supply in this county. People are going to run out of garage space at this rate.

Just ordered a bunch of ammo from Palmetto State Armory. They have .22 LR in 100 round boxes for $7.99, freight free.

Lots of bargains out there.

Hmmm.. I think there’s a gun show this weekend in Reno. Hell, there’s all kinds of stuff in town this weekend. Blues and Brews downtown, Reno Rodeo, Food Truck Friday then toss a gun show on top. Nice.

While Obama is no longer a threat to our guns and ammo, don’t we need MORE of them to defend ourselves against the hoards of left-wing progressive zombies who are attacking anyone who supports Trump with bats and clubs?

Meanwhile in Seattle:

Retail sale of firearms Tax rate:

Each firearm sold at retail $25

Retail sale of ammunition Tax rate per round .22 caliber or less sold at retail $0.02

All other ammunition sold at retail $0.05

City council perplexed over loss of expected revenue (190mill).

at that price, is it worth picking up a small 22 handgun to play with? Maybe have my wife learn on that, with ammo being nearly free.

“...While Obama is no longer a threat to our guns and ammo,...:

He never WAS a threat. Maybe in HIS mind, he was. We kept HIM awake at night worrying.

At the end of the day regading our Sedonc Amendment rights, he showed his lack of spine and complete fecklessness; he didn’t have the balls to go froggy and jump.

He was then, and is still now, a worthless POS. The difference is, now, he’s an unemployed worthless POS, and I dont have to see his face every day anywmore.

History will not be kind to his... “legacy”.

You were very close to having all your guns taken away.

Look what happened to those ranchers to tried to take that armed stand/protest against the Federal government,

Most are in jail now.

Negative.

Because I wouldn’t be around anymore. Some things are worth fighting for. I’ll leave it at that.

Damn! Think of all the baked beans and TP I could have bought if I only knew that the SHTF wouldn’t happen until after the .22 bubble.
