Senator Alan Simpson (R-Wyoming) needs to get his facts straight about social security.
You pay 6.5% as an employee, Your employer pays 6.5%. You pay 1.5% to Medicare, Total 14.5%. If you are self-employed you must pay the 14.5% yourself. How could he say, because senior citizens expect their social security and medicare benefits when they retire, they are greedy?

Indeed. No one governs the government. There is no ‘lock box’. It gets spent. It’s up to subsequent generations to borrow and print money to pay for their retirees.
I think she may have some learning to do. Rights are not something granted by a government. Social Security is a contract. Rights are granted by God.

No. Socialist Insecurity is not a “right”, and nobody has “paid” for it. It is government sponsored armed robbery, taking from the young and giving to the old. Nothing more, nothing less. I just recently qualified for the original Social Security and Medicare.Twice in the last year or so I've gone to the SS office with a question.On both occasions the waiting room was mobbed and I was *by far* the oldest person in the room.Today's Social Security has been amended to a degree where it's become,to a substantial degree,another form of welfare...another way for the nation's idle parasites and wetbacks to get a free paycheck.
Yep It is a Ponzi Scheme. Anybody else would go to jail for running such a scam.
