National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told C-SPAN Monday that the rapid downturn in illegal border crossings is “nothing short of miraculous.” He elaborated that total recorded border crossings in 2017 are just 53% of what they were in 2016, and that percentage continues to drop each week. As we have noted before, this has been achieved without building single foot of wall, without changes to existing statutes, without any new huge budget allocations to the Border Patrol, without the introduction of any new technology. The one and only reason for this fall is the simple fact that we have a President of the United States who is focused on enforcing the laws already on the books. Isn’t it amazing how simple psychology changes human behavior.
Meanwhile, in the aspiring third world country of California, 8 Senate Republicans broke with party leadership and voted in favor of extending that state’s job-and-business-destroying “Cap and Trade” program through the year 2030. After the vote was taken, Assembly Republican leader Chad Mayes (R-Yucca Valley) told reporters that “California Republicans are different than national Republicans.” Yes, they appear to be Democrats.

Obama ordered border patrol agents to hand out work visas instead of sending them back. You can’t encourage law breakers much more than that.

At first I thought this too (Lame excuse to not build the wall), but upon reflection I doubt that he wouldn’t agree with you about the 0%.
The difference is that the Mexicans, if not Freepers, actually BELIEVE that Trump WILL build the wall (and Mexico will pay for it).
A believed threat will only work once if you don’t make good on it (read: Obama “line in the sand”). Trump knows this and I have ZERO doubt that we will get “THE WALL” where it is needed.
It will be a beautiful wall, with a beautiful door, and will generate beautiful free electricity.
As soon as Mr. Trump’s term is finished the BP will be ordered to stand down.. You can’t tell a wall to stand down.

"The Wall" will only interdict those who get here by walking. It has zip effect on those who fly in legally, and then stay here illegally. A total focus on "Wall" won't fix the whole problem.
If, like Eisenhower, you actively hunt down and deport illegal aliens, 10 flee the country for every one you catch. If, like Obama, you refuse to enforce immigration laws, then illegal aliens flood in over the border like a conquering hoard.
This is not rocket science.
