Thinking of touching up your shotgun shooting skills before fall? Do you need some motivation or inspiration? Have a look at these Youtube sensations the Gould brothers. We have to warn you they’re not your average guys thats teaching you the old boring marksmanship basics.

In the last picture where they are dropping the shotgun shell into the breach, it looks like they are shooting at something on a hay bale. I guess whatever cow eats that hay will get a belly full of #8. Hay bales make effective, tempting backdrops but I avoid them for that reason.

I shoot on another guy’s hay field and they are always there. He lets me shoot there, I’ll respect his livelihood.

I’m not sure the bales are intended to be fed to cows. More likely they’re consumables on a shooting ground.

They could just be straw bales, we use them for targets. What is really fun is pumpkins and watermelons, they explode great.
