Middlebury College policy shuts down free speech

In light of the ongoing violence on college campuses across the country, Middlebury College is instituting a “heckler’s veto” or temporary policy to shut down speakers whom they believe might be targets of threats or violence.

A heckler’s veto is a term used when a government or institution of power shuts down someone’s First Amendment right of free speech to prevent or subvert potential violence that might be unleashed by a heckler in response to what they perceive as disagreeable speech. In layman’s terms, Middlebury is temporarily instituting an infringement on First Amendment rights.

Stopping short of a flat-out ban on inviting Republican or right-leaning speakers to step foot on their campus out of fear it would psychologically impact the liberal students, Middlebury promises “measures to maximize safety,” which might entail the cancellation of speaking events if administrators feel there is a “credible threat.”

4 or so years ago Middlebury acquired the Monterey Institute of International Relations.

They’re 1 km down the hill from the army’s Defense Language Institute and 2 km the Navy’s Naval Post Graduate School.

Middlebury now has lots to do with The Highlands Group, which has been around since 1996 or so.

It is a part of the Deep State.

It’s spooky Global Government stuff and they do NOT like publicity, people looking into them and their plans, etc.

So basivally... they’re revoking the right of ONLY white people to speak.

This is racism at its highest level and Middlebury should be sued out of existence.

Letting the violent mob stop free speech was my idea. Aren't I smart.

Here's the head of the Highlands Forum (the other name for The Highlands Group), Dr. Itamara Lochard:

She's affiliated with the DOD and most of the funding for the Highlands Forum comes from....GET THIS..!

Goldman Sach's...!

No, I'm serious.

She, MIIS, Middlebury and others are really INTO persistant surveillance, perception management and a bunch of other bad stuff:

Basically garroting Lady Liberty and throwing her torch into New York harbor.

The Deep State and political correctness are peas in a pod. We don’t have the levels of PC we do because the government elites oppose it.

I have the strong belief some fellow Vermonters may be ‘triggered’ by seeing a Middlebury College bumper sticker. There’s no telling what may happen.

Well one thing about the people of Vermont, they like their second amendment and will not give it up lightly.

We will never give it up. There’s no compromising on that.

I remember when some libtards tried to introduce some gun control measures in Vermont. The people came out of the woodworks en mass against it and it did not go anywhere. Vermont has a lot of classical liberals.

Unfortunately, we get more than our share of brain-dead flat-landers moving here to run for office. Bernie, the socialist from Brooklyn, started that trend. I recall seeing that filthy commune reject sleeping on a park bench in Burlington in the late 1970’s. Then the Supreme Court allowed students to vote where they attended school, and that propelled him to local, then national, office. But he was savvy enough to keep out of the gun control debate - that would have sunk him.

More about Dr. Lochard:

In 2004, Lochard was co-author of a study for the US Air Force’s Institute for National Security Studies on US strategy toward ‘non-state armed groups.’ The study on the one hand argued that non-state armed groups should be urgently recognized as a ‘tier one security priority,’ and on the other that the proliferation of armed groups “provide strategic opportunities that can be exploited to help achieve policy goals. There have and will be instances where the United States may find collaborating with armed group is in its strategic interests.” But “sophisticated tools” must be developed to differentiate between different groups and understand their dynamics, to determine which groups should be countered, and which could be exploited for US interests. “Armed group profiles can likewise be employed to identify ways in which the United States may assist certain armed groups whose success will be advantageous to US foreign policy objectives.”

Before his elections Obama was asked about "engagement" and he responsed very confidently that US engagement with heretofore shunned world actors could only be a good thing.

But what we're talking about here is a level of engagement that is breath-taking in scope.

FOOL-HARDY, ARROGANT AND RECKLESS.

Unfortunately it happens all too often. I watched it happen when I lived in Virginia, North Carolina etc. Just look at Colorado, Oregon, Washington State,. Liberals always foul their nest and move on to ruin the next state they chose to inhabit. They start out small scale. School boards, town councils, etc. and then they move on to bigger things.

I'm sure you have heard the term "Massholes".

“led the valuations of Facebook and Google”

What does _that_ mean?

I guess markets don’t “lead valuations” these days?

Spooky language....
