What Trump's NFL, Curry remarks should signal to his base (The Left takes the bait)
CNN Opinion ^ | September 23, 2017 | Professor Julian Zelizer, Political Analyst

Posted on 09/23/2017 4:08:59 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

President Donald Trump is going to war with some high-profile African-American athletes who have political thoughts on their minds. The President said that fans should walk out when NFL players like Colin Kaepernick take a knee during the national anthem to protest our nation's inadequate response to racial inequities.

After the NBA superstar Stephen Curry told the media that he did not want to go to the White House to be honored by Trump, the President decided to take time from his busy day to tweet a withdrawal of the invitation.

It would be easy to see this as just one more trivial story about an immature president who watches too much television and has no control over his rhetorical impulses.

But it's much worse than that. Trump's desire to go after an African-American athlete who has been protesting our well-documented problems with race and criminal justice, or an African-American athlete who does not feel comfortable in the White House given the President's controversial positions on social issues, fit into a longer and troubling history of his capitalizing on the politics of racial division.....

No dummy it means he is just like us and is very offended by the kaepernicking of sour rich assholes who would never be happy no matter what he did.

I can’t wait for the societal blowup on these issues.

I love the fact that what was unmentionable is now not discussed but will be acted upon.

It’s high time there’s push back on the professional left agitated pro-sports PC activities.

Now these boys are going to find out their battle isn’t with the owners paying them, it’s going to be with the people in the stands.

That’s an entirely different game they can’t win.

I notice on the ESPN crawl that quoted what Lebron James said about Trump. They left off the U-bum remark.

Why don’t they write about the injustice of forcing taxpaying citizens in these cities into paying for their 24 karat gold super stadiums that cost billions of dollars....only to be crapped on by these Power Fist throwing d-heads? I pay taxes for these buildings and then can’t even afford to buy a ticket into one of them. Let’s talk about injustice.

Why does CNN not wright about the injustices of communism and socialism?

Why write about it when you can build upon it?

FL players like Colin Kaepernick take a knee during the national anthem

And Colin Kaepernick is not an NFL player.

I guess those "problems" didn't exist before Trump became president, and didn't exist while Obama was president, and didn't exist before Obama came on the scene.

The most hypocritical part of those comments, is that the writer/speaker leaves out "who" is most responsible for creating those problems, the "who" being the democrats way back in history and up to now. And, those problems became even more pronounced under the Obama administration.

These protests are about black people saying “f-you, whitey” and daring anyone to say anything about it.

WHO'S DA BUM?

LeBron James went clubbing after Cleveland blew a 26-point fourth-quarter lead in an overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks, then sat out the next game when the Cavs needed a win to obtain top seeding.

bum (bŭm) n.

1. A tramp; a vagrant.

2. A lazy or shiftless person, especially one who seeks to live solely by the support of others.

3. An incompetent, insignificant, or obnoxious person.

4. One who spends a lot of time doing a particular recreational activity: a beach bum; a ski bum.
