Patriot Of The Day: Alejandro Villanueva
Common Sense Evaluation ^

Posted on 09/25/2017 5:31:54 AM PDT by gaggs

Army veteran Alejandro Villanueva was the only player on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ team to come out of the locker room and stand for the anthem.

The man is a true hero and inspiration!

During last year’s season, Villanueva said in response to then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick protests:

“I agree that America is not perfect, I agree there are lot of issues with minorities in this country, I agree we should do something about it.

But I don’t know if the most effective way is to sit down when the national anthem of the country that is providing you freedom and providing you $60 million a year is the best way to do it when there are black minorities that are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan and protecting our freedom for less than $20,000 a year.

I just know I’m very thankful to be an American. I will stand very proudly and sing every single line of the national anthem every single time I hear it. I will stop whatever I’m doing because I recognize I have to be very thankful to be in this country."

When you see and hear this hero and then read Tom Brady’s reasoning of the locking of arms during the Anthem because of the “sacrifice” NFL players make you realize just how small of a man the latter really is.

What is the rotten root of the protest?

The point is that not very smart football jocks support the erroneous narrative made up by Black Lives Matter (BLM). BLM is a racist terrorist organization that promotes the killing of innocent police officers! Get it? Got it?

There is also NO facts that support BLM’s position. There isn’t suppose to be. All based on a communist political narrative and the manipulation of people’s emotions. Players & others need to truly understand the issue, facts and agenda of BLM.

NFL is stupid to be goaded by black players into supporting a baseless political issue of a racist terrorist organization like BLM!

Don’t poop where you eat. You are the ones killing the dream for the next generation of black brothers!

Each of the kneelers and sit-in-the-locker-roomerers could donate 90% of their salaries and bonuses to the minority fund of their choice, if they REALLY cared.

Colin Cop-a-Nickel could be mentoring and coaching boys at an inner city sports league - couldnt he ?

I want to buy 10 of this guys jerseys today but I don’t want the NFL to make a cent off it. Anyone have an idea? And this is coming from the biggest Tommy Brady fan on the planet, at least until this AM, anyway.

“I agree there are lot of issues with minorities in this country”

Largely self-inflicted.

It looked like there were more Steelers back inside the tunnel with hands over hearts.

But they were cowed into a PC response by their liberal coach and owner.

"But they were cowed into a PC response by their liberal coach and owner."

And it appears that Tomlin took a veiled swipe at Villanueva by saying I thought we were all together, I guess we weren't. He just signed a new contract at the beginning of the year. Good for him. Hopefully they don't start looking for a new tackle because of this...

I just purchased a Alejandro Villanueva jersey and a Dallas Cowboy hat. I reward good behavior.

You know, broadcasters and commentators are dancing around the issue from what I’ve seen. This started and is continuing because they are protesting, not social conditions, but perceived police brutality on the part of the black community.

All of these players disrespecting the flag and by extension the United States of America, I have a question for you how many of you have ever done a ride along with police officers? See what kind of crap they have to put up with every day? How many of you have gone through that simulated police response course that are out there for police training? If you have, how many of you have simulated shooting Grandma with the grocery bags instead of the killer? If I had to guess, zero of the kneelers have done any of this.

It’s real safe and easy to kneel and figuratively spit on our country, my question is how many of you NFL players doing this are trying to foster relations between the black community and police to try to make it better? The liberal way is much easier, I care so I’ll wear the ribbon, don’t try to actually resolve the problem...

In ten years no one will remember the names of all those NFL kneelers but they will remember Alejandro for his courage to stand up to those leftist thugs .

Are the Cowboys the only team that hasn’t kneeled, or had owners rationalize their players’ actions?

Go on eBay or something like that. Look for old stuff. They don’t get anything for used stuff.

That’s what I do for old albums of LPs tapes and CDs. Hate the politics, like the music. No royalties buying off Etsy or eBay or at a garage sale.

I agree! I suggested on twitter yesterday that someone needs to come up with a Villanueva jersey, NOT NFL sanctioned/affiliated/licensed, with proceeds to benefit a military charity and I bet it will sell tons. My tweet got over 500+ “likes” and the best were the ones who said “I’m from Texas, don’t like the Steelers, but would buy 5 of them, love this guy” !
